Just heard that Murphy is gone for anything up to 12 weeks this on top of losing Carrozo will just about finish their chance for this season Judd will be so stuffed by the time Murphy gets back that it will be hard for him to have anything left in the tank.

After the way they payed out on us after rd 3 it shows what goes around comes around they have lost Murphy and Carrozo now and with any chance they had and I know Jonbe will be so happy and I don,t blame him.

Carlton lose 2 players and they are stuffed most weeks we are playing without 6 or 7 best 22 and we are still a big threat if some of these other teams had copped a few of our injuries how would they be going.:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Ps I was only going to put up 1 thumbs up but the other 2 are for you Jonbe I just read your post on the Blues and could,nt agree more.

Re: Murphy Gone and with him Carlton,s chance

Huge blow for them, when he does comeback he wont have confidence in his shoulder and wont be playing to his usual standard in close, big big bonus for us.

Thanks Ip, is there a reason all your apostrophes (') come out as commas (,), as in "Carlton's chance" V "Carlton,s chance"?

Sorry to be a pedant, but it always distracts me. Then again, I'm fickle.

Re: Murphy Gone and with him Carlton,s chance

Not sure what the point of this thread is. It's a bit weak to be happy about players getting injured, regardless of who they play for.
Josh I think the point ippy is trying to make is that Carlton supporters gave us hell when the beat us with half our team out and now the shoe is on the other foot. . .

Don't think he's celebrating Murphy and Carazzo's injuries, just the ever present nature of the karma wheel spinning. What goes around comes around, and Carlton supporters needed to learn a little humility.

Re: Murphy Gone and with him Carlton,s chance

i argee, it is just poor form.

i was over on the adelaide board and some were saying "the more the merrier" in relation to our injuries. but then again what do you expect from south australians?

Fair point, but I'd rather play a full strength Carlton, tbh.

Sure josh I agree would rather beat a full strength Carlton so it can't be claimed a hollow victory, but those bluebagger supporters needed a little dose of reality, unfortunately for the kid it was Murphy who provided it.

Re: Murphy Gone and with him Carlton,s chance

To be honest I rather he was fit for our match in Rnd15.

No excuses for the filth.

Re: Murphy Gone and with him Carlton,s chance

That is Karma, for sticking the finger at the our cheersquad. Also I a sick and tired of saying I never wish any player an injury becuase when Ball and Krakouer did their knee's Carlton fans all over twitter and facbook were saying they got what they deserved. Now I am saying Carrazo and Murphy got what they deserved.

'An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind'

Just because they did it isn't any reason to sink down to their level. It's pretty poor to be happy about another teams injuries, even if it is Carlscum.

Re: Murphy Gone and with him Carlton,s chance

Lets not run away with finger pointing guys. I'm sorry to see any player injured but the simple fact of the matter is that due to their 'inventive' recruitment methods Carlton have had a long list of unearned high draft picks that have turned out to be less than errr strong physical players. With Judd starting to slow with age and Carazzo (spelling??) and now Murphy out they have no grunt in the midfield, this - not the injury but lack of overall midfield grunt - is in my opinion sweet kharma for the way the flouted they rules to gain said high picks and imports.

Re: Murphy Gone and with him Carlton,s chance

Ironically sides had actually started to tag Murphy, and he simply wasn't coping, so Carlton might not be too worst off without him over the next 10-12 weeks.

Like us losing Luke Ball it may force some of their second tier mids to step up and actually show some talent. Kade Simpson I rate highly, a little like a Wellingham type who has been given little chance, so he might step it up to the next level. Long term Carlton might be better off for Murphy missing a large chunk of the season, as their midfield depth is one of their major problems against the top teams.

But ultimately, they are no longer a premiership threat, in fact they weren't even before Murphy went down, which is a good thing for us, even if it is a pity to see a good player injured for a long period of time (although it's about time other teams started to lose top players too).

Josh I agree with playing a full strength Carlton but I would not mind being at full strength ourselves,On your other point about taking delight in someone else,s misfortune I have never nor will I ever take delight in anybodies misfortune and I certainly do not blame Carrozo and Murphy for the behavior of Carltons fans.

Josh in short I don,t have a problem with either Murphy or Carrozo and wish them both a full and speedy recovery my biggest problem is with their fans and I am not alone in that:thumbsu:.

Let's get rid of this thread I say.....
Understand there was no malice intended but that's the way it will be looked upon by others venturing on this board.

Re: Murphy Gone and with him Carlton,s chance

Murphy is a gun and a big loss. No one would wish an injury on him. Carlton's season was stuttering well before he got injured so it's really another nail in their coffin. Its hard to see them top 4 now so Rattens job has been put on the line

Judd was interviewed today and compared Murphy going down to Ball. Said they would be looking for a Sidebottom/Beams like step up. Great compliment for our 2 boys but Carltons problem is they don't have 2 young mids who already have runs on the board like our 2 did.

Beams and Sidey had top 10 B&F finishes in a flag year and high up finals performances (Sidebottom) on their resumes already and were just itching for midfield time. Similar expectations for Wellingham and even Blair and Fas. Carlon don't have anything like these riches and thats why they felt Carrazzo going down so acutely and its why the will feel Murphs loss even more

Grim times at PP

and the results for them have been.......beautiful :)

he's been tested in the past, and is certainly no elite mid. first rate tags destroy him. too unaccountable.

But ultimately, they are no longer a premiership threat, in fact they weren't even before Murphy went down,

and thats exactly it - they never were. they based it on beating us when we were at our worst, and theres no other skier like carlscum at present.

apparently its poor form trolling injuries, but when its carlscum, and no matter how talented the player, its bloody tempting :D

off to the bay.

Re: Murphy Gone and with him Carlton,s chance

Would prefer them to capitulate with a full list.

Either way I'm really not interested in them. All I care about is the Crows then the Suns then Melbourne then the bye. If we can get past the Crows ( a big ask) we have a chance of being well and truly in the top four and with some injured players back (Tarrant Brown Reid Swan) when we meet the Eagles.

I started the thread and if the mods wish to close it down so be it but this thread was never intended to glory in any players misfortune from any club and that includes carlton so it is definitely not about gloating over anyone,s injuries but please don,t tell me we should have sympathy for their fans my memory is much too good for that.
On this subject I will say no more and let the mods do as they wish but some people need to get out there and see what they post about us.
