AFL Club
Carlton
in 10 years time when there careers come to a close who will be better, who will win a brownlow, who will be aa, premiership player and who will captain.

I have been watching replays of this years wins during the last week and although I thought this would be clear cut before I watched these replays, I now think it will be very close. I thought before that it would be Gibbs because he oozes class, however watching the pies games, the brisbane game, the dogs game and a couple more could not believe how much Murphy got the ball and did classy things (break tackles, evade players, win hard ball, etc). I have noticed this more while watching the games again. What lets Murph down is his disposal which means he is less damaging than other class players so his dominance goes unnoticed. If he fixes his disposal more and gets better in front of goal he will be an aa player soon. I think Gibbs may be the captain but they will both be quite even.:thumbsu:

I truly hope its more like 15 years. Murphy is 21, Gibbs is 19.

They both will be premiership players, they both will be all australians more than once and they both will win brownlow's (its simple). . .
on the captain's issue, im unsure about that one.

Agree with Starr_BLue that Murphy's great year went a little un-noticed by some... let's remember that he is only in his 4th year now....

But there is something special about Gibbs that will be unleashed next year...

Personally i couldn't care though... They will be BLUEBAGGERS for the rest of their lives...

Put it this way, in 10 years time.....

it won't be the old Voss / Buckley / Hird debate it'll be more like the:

Gibbs / Murphy / Judd debate......and as Carlton supporters I urge you to sit back, relax, listen to your mates argue and just smile.

someone should definitely set up a poll on the polls board. The Richmond supporters wouldn't know what to do..... Cotchin isn't an option:D:D:D

:confused:Forget about watching last years wins. Start watching last years losses and see who managed to keep trying and went in harder. They are the players you need to know about. Not the ones who only perform when we are winning!!!!!

Gibbs a class above Murph

Murph is 18 months older and has had an extra pre season than BG

BG had a much better 2nd season than Murph.

BG by a furlong

dim (sorry, champ) remember the times over the past 5 or 6 years when it seemed NO-ONE could really give a shit about playing footy for CFC? I've been to those games where pretty much everyone from Fev through to T-Bird would rather be somewhere else.

And that's why I never leave early because when you are 100 points down half way through the last quarter is when you'll see the players who really want to give their all for the club. See Motts in the 1986 GF for example.

Apathy, laziness and "not my fault" can run through a losing team like a cancer. Why do you reckon the comebacks tasted extra sweet this year? We haven't been able to pull off come from behind wins in years then all of a sudden there's about 4 or 5 of them.

We now have players who are willing to put their hand up and say "hey, I'm not putting up with this weak as piss effort". :)
