Neither can I but thats only because I'm a long way away and I can't see anything the club does from here

Jokes aside I think the club should wait until the end of the year before making a decision on whether to retain him on our list
Yeah, I agree. Delisting him now serves little purpose than appeasing the PC community.

Y'know, minimum-security prison is no picnic. I have a client in there right now. He says the trick is: kick someone's ass the first day, or become someone's bitch.

Well sometimes you have to stop and think before ruining your life (or the life of someone else because of your actions)
In today's story He-Man used something even more powerful than his muscles to beat Skeletor. Do you know what it was? If you said 'his brain,' you were right.

Well what does the club do, support Murray at the expense of the victim which could possibly have cause some ripples in some circles or; cut him from the list with some assurances that he may return to the club. I think the former is more likely but yeah not sure.

Edit: after the drug image issues we have had in the past I think the club might be taking a no tolerance policy to behaviour that might cause any damage to our current image which the club has had to move mountains to build up to this point.

To suggest you can keep a guy on your list when hes off to prison is ridiculous.

As a side note, Luke Adams now knows that if he gets attacked again, his attacker will only get put away if he sent him abusive facebook messages first.

How is it at the expense of the victim?

They're merely supporting a clubman who has issues. Marris is an irrelevant figure to the club.

Zero tolerance is for weak cultures.

Any damage to the clubs image was done when he hit the bloke in the first place - since then the club have stood by him being charged, tried and found guilty. If we were adoting a no tolerance policy he'd already be gone

Its more about the community reaction that the club is not considering the victim in the crime and taking steps to denounce it i.e sacking him.

Maybe the club was waiting for the ruling before making a decision. I personally think he will be cut but yeah not sure.

Whether the Eagles delist him at the end of the year, will depend on his form shown in the Wooroloo Footy team.

Simple as that, as Rookies must produce and develop, or get the chop.

I would like to see the club come out an say something along the lines of... "firstly, we condemn any violence and actions that may cause harm to others. However, we made a commitment to support our teammate through this process and we will be fulfilling that commitment."

So far I've seen no public outcry that we've kept him on.

I'm quite sure Collingwood were applauded for taking Krakoure, I think he'll stay, but the club will need to be quite open about what's happening.

Yeah unless I have missed something the club is being unusually quiet about it, maybe they are making sure they make the right decision but I think they need to come out early and say something along those lines.

Clever to phrase it as 'keeping him on the list' and not making any promises. If he ever comes back from this to play for us it would be a huge effort & quite inspirational.

“We would like to retain Murray on the club’s rookie list for the 2014 season as the club believes that it will be an important part of his rehabilitation and his re-integration to society – and football – upon his release."

Interesting...

Interesting...

We need him fresh for finals football.

But good on the club by sticking by him.

Not entirely happy with that.

As was apparent from the first day of the trial and was restated by the judge in the earlier article, there was a prolonged pattern of threat and demand for a fight which Newman finally acted on. The clubs comment that it was "10 seconds" etc misses that point.

A point the judge has made numerous times ...

Sentence seems reasonable to me and, again from attending Day 1 of the trial, almost inevitable ...
