i know what you're saying, but what my quote highlighted was that regardless of preference he's happy to play wherever if it means getting picked up.

just because he may have a preference for vic doesn't mean playing in wa is a dealbreaker.

Garlett should learn to shut his mouth and do what he is told.

The news tonight was a big positive Murray Newman.

Simpson said he was impressed by him, and his conditioned looked very good with his shirt of.

Hopefully he has a huge preseason and makes a foward pocket spot his own.
Agreed. It was mentioned on the eagles website he has a year left on his contract, I didn't know that.

I completely forgot about his trial. I thought people were wanting him delisted because of his walking out of club and being beaten in a TT by Woosh, but this actually makes sense.

I believe St. Kilda are going down a similar path with Saad, waiting for the findings of his doping allegations.

The players all know where they stand with clubs now too. If it's a risk to the club to keep you, you're gone until the risk is cleared so they can take a punt on another guy.

Would love to see him gain some form, get back onto the main list and develop into Eagles premium pocket player.

Exactly, but on the precondition clubs aren't too hasty to punish kids who make mistakes.

This kind of thing disturbs me, there are a thousand kids out there more deserving of an AFL career than Newman now waiting to get their chance..don't have a criminal charge. This whole player obsession thing is some kind of disease, if a rookie or 1st year player doesn't have what it takes then move them on, we aren't a freaking charity organization trying to help out troubled kids we a Football club or were last time I looked.

This kind of post disturbs me, there are very few kids out there more deserving of an AFL career based upon talent than Newman right now. This whole player dismissal thing is some kind of disease, if a rookie or 1st year player has the talent but there are external factors which are holding them back we should try and get them past that, we aren't a freaking vigilante organization trying to judge kids who haven't even been found guilty of anything yet, we are a Football club last time I checked and that means we want to put the best players out there each week.

Now, if he's found guilty in a court of law, that's one thing, but the number of people playing prosecutor, judge and jury at the same time with regards to Newman is just stupid. Delisting and re-rookie-ing him is 100% the right move as he's an extremely talented player who should be on our list if possible, but if he is found guilty we'll still have a full main list. I honestly don't know what more you can rationally expect in this situation.

We also happen to be a business that has to make wise decisions/investments to ensure our future and an important factor in that equation is that we invest in quality people. We are not a welfare organization that is responsible for teaching people social skills. Newman has proven to be a very poor investment thus far even before he is judged in a court of law where I am confident he will be found guilty and almost certainly become a guest of the prison system.
I have no doubt that the Club has been given this advice and that is why they have delisted him. Personally, I don't believe he deserves any further consideration by the Club and they should wash their hands of him.
Your opening sentence beggars belief, how would you possibly know how many more deserving kids there are out there than Newman?

You contradict yourself. You don't want to be a charitable club but want to discard misbehaving talented players for others that 'deserve' a spot, presumably based on their off-field behaviour? Sounds like charity to me.

If the implication is that a football club should focus on talent first that's exactly what they're doing.
