I have started to get cramps around the same time in my calf hamstring and groin areas about 3 hours into a game of cricket.

any suggestions on what i should change in my diet/good products to use would be great.

If you have tried everything, give tonic water a go
Tonic water contains quinine which helps out with cramps

And just dont let your fluids or salt levels get too low (ie. stay hydrated)
Gatorade/Powerade's probably the way to go because i believe it contains salt anyway

Lots of water and fruit. And stretching. I get the same problems bowling long spells in cricket.

I cramp chronically with any sort of serious exercise due to excessive perspiration - if I don't replace fluids I can lose almost a kilo an hour playing tennis in summer. The solution for me was the Pat Rafter diet - lots of water, the occasional salt tablet and a potassium source like bananas.

Sports drinks are good instead of salt tablets, but dilute them in several litres of water first - they're about 4x as concentrated as they need to be for electrolyte replacement. Most people use them for the sugar high.

Bananas are great. a compression bandage could also help

I find massages are the best though, really helpful when you get a cramp in your probst.

Deep heat on the calf and hamstring?

to clarify this is a new problem, last year i could bowl 20 odd over spells no problem

I play heaps of sport but I've only had stomach cramps and a toe cramp once while swimming, I'm lucky I guess.

But yeah Clive I'm suprised you are human. Just drink heaps of water and sh*t

Only bowl 15 over spells, rest for 10 then bowl again.

I'm lucky to get 2 overs in a game:o

rest up before a game. eat right before a game. warm up before a game

keep your fluids and salts up during the game. stretch it regularly during the game

warm down properly after the game
