2001 draft aside - they describe it the same way every year.

Every year however top 5 picks are at a premium.

There are also smokies & late picks that do well........ every year.

We'll just have to take our chances with our 2 top 5 picks & after that, well at least we dont start with pick 45 like other years.

Oh......
& dont forget the other rewards for an abysmal season.......

PICK 1 PSD

The ability to force clubs to deal due to having Pick in the PSD.

Lets just hope that the PSD draft is the quality of a few years back when the Bullies picked up Rawlings & us Stevens, rather than this years poor offering of Trent Knogood at pick 1.

A weak draft doesn't really affect us. The top end of the draft is quality (like every year) and that's where we'll be focusing on. Clubs with pick 8-18 are the ones that will suffer the most. They may have to take a few risks.

That could be the cream on the cake. Pick a couple of quality midfield types early in the draft then entice a big fish to jump ship.
If the Pies happened to be in your position I would hope they would have enticed ,by fair means or foul, the biggest fish they could have to head for the PSD.
Could top up your list nicely with good recruiting and an ounce of PSD luck.

I relise there is usually always a couple of goers, even in weak drafts that go tp 5 but ive seen quite a bit of the Tac Cup (mates, mates brothers playing in it etc.) and taledk to people whom know there stuff and not alot of postives.

At this stage who would you really like to get your hands on bar Marc Murphy?

In fairness to Richmond that effectively got Simmonds as they used this pick for bargaining power.

I am more shattered by your poor spelling and and your general lack of football knowledge. How many posts over 9000.
Go and worry about your own team.
Oh and by the way how do you think Chris Bryan is going?

Yes.
So how do you think Chris Bryan is going?
You called him a hack a month or so ago without ever seeing him play a game?
Personally i think he is going alright seeing as he is playing in such a crap side.
My point is you seem to pretend to think you know alot about football when in all honesty i think you don't.
I will wait for the "drarft" and listen to the the so called experts opinions on the potential talent available before reading your opinion and taking on board what you think.

Guys Bentleigh is actually creating a positive discussion for once so give him a break. Lets not just have a go at him just because he happens to be a Richmond supporter.

Hurn, Ellis and Murphy (with my admittably limited knowledge on this subject) seem to be the ones who stand out from the crowd. Drum would also be a great pickup and Dowler could probably be turned into a pretty good defender. That WA ruckman seemed pretty good from what I could see on TV so he'd be another potential. But it's safe to say that I'd be pretty happy if we managed to get two of the first three.

I also hope we pick up Grae Grant in the second round if he's still available. He was touted as a top 10 draft pick early in the year so he must have some talent and that's something we desperately need.

Looking at the weak draft I think well probably take Tomi Johnson as a father son too. He may be small but if we gave him time he could turn into a player considering he seems to be among the best for his team every week and it's not as if we'd lose much in this draft either.

*Remember how Pagan would have given you mothers right nut to take Knobel in the PSD over Betts?

I don't know, Pagan doesn't seem to be the type to start molesting supporters mothers.

Besides if we managed to pick up Knobel he wouldn't be replacing Bryan in our current side, he'd replace Prendergast and I think we can all agree that Prendi is a hack.

Why'd you even post this thread on our board Bentleigh. A weak draft = a shallow draft. We'll have picks 1 and 3. It would have to be the most shallowest draft in AFL history to not pick up guns with picks 1 and 3. Anyway, I'm starting to lean towards 2 midfielders. Hurn and Ellis will do nicely.

From reading posts on BF and reading articles in the press, IMO, Carlton should use their 2 picks in the top 4 (I'm assuming that Carlton and Hawthorn will be the only clubs to have PP's) to grab one midfielder and KPP from the following: Murphy, Swallow, Ellis, Clark and Kennedy.

i still think Byran is a hack.
You do know the posting conditions here don't you? Respect the team and its supporters on its own board. If you come on here to post and someone disagrees with you, they can fire back. If you fire back, you are the one taken to task. If you want right of reply, take it to the main board.
