Lock in Harley as AA Captain now

Hold your horses, that award is for his captaining abilities only.

First he needs to get on the ground for his ability, which I believe is not warranted against the other players picked in the squad.

McLeod got captain the other year of AA when he wasn't even captain of his own team.

Please note: This is not a troll (like some Harley based opinions may have been accused of in the *cough* past)

For Selwood to finish 6th is Amazing! What a star!!

If his ability was not warranted for AA selection then why have they picked him in the final squad in the first place? He takes the most amount of contested marks in the backline than any other player. That alone makes him a great a backman. He is totally under-rated.

READ MY POST! As I said, Harley doesn't deserve a spot in the team over the others selected in the squad.

There is no way he is underrated, he is very much rated by the media and this board. I haven't heard 1 person mention the fact (apart from Harley himself tonight) that he is very much out of form and struggling at the moment.

The marks in the back line is 1 stat. Other players in the AA squad have more influence on a game and are more valuable to their team than Harley.

Harley will make it IMHO.

It will look something like this:

B: Harley - Scarlett - Mackie
HB: Hodge - Bock - Pratt/Enright

Who from that list do you suggest is better then Harley?

For the record:

Selwood 3rd in most couragous, Harold 5th in Best First Year player.

Jr your a star, great award to win. :thumbsu: Voted by peers, much better to win as a sign of respect form opposition players than the award thats voted for by umpires:D

Also great for Harley to be getting a lot of recognition in his latter years of his career, deserves everything he gets. If he makes the final cut of the AA then he HAS to be AA captain.

and well done to Joel Selwood, this kid is a freak, 6th in MVP voting and 3rd for the courageous award.

Now for a repeat of last year of 9 AA and Ablett or Jimmy to bring Charlie home (or both:D), and then THE BIG ONE!!!!

Has been OK all season but not spectacular. Kind of seems Harls is getting AA squad selection for a good effort over the years. Mind you, I still think he is not a great chance of actual selection. Captain selection in AA can be unpredictable as someone else mentioned.
Harley was probably the only player on Sunday who get defeated consistently and defeated by his opponent. Thompson had a little go at him as Harley indicated last night. Lets hope he improves for the remaining 2 finals games.
