My day at the draft

No, I have heard those whispers too, though I have yet to see anything in concrete from the powers that be.

It was sugested by Dean Laidley in the media a while back(He played 99 games for the Roos and his son is a chance to be drafted in 2010) as a way of compensating for GC17 taking all the draft picks.

I do recall it was discussed earlier in the year that the new F/S bidding system meant that the 50 game qualifying period could be returned.

It was felt that both the bidding system AND 100 games was probably too much to ask and I would agree.

Sad, but true....

This morning's paper said it's a chance to come in in 2010 in time for Dean Laidley's son to qualify for North. Laidley played 99 games for the Roos.

I'd be politely asking young Joesph if he wouldn't be better off concentrating on his schooling until the 2010 draft.

Groenewagon, Wallis and Liberatore all in the draft where we lose our picks to the GC. Beautiful.

If they are any good. I saw an under16 VicMetro game on Grand Fianl DAy. Young Libba was OK but not outstanding.

Premiership year too, so they are late picks.

Sorry to go off topic for you guys but was just wondering if at the draft the coaching or recruiting staff were hoping for anyone to slip thru that they might've had there eyes on but couldnt pick up due to only having early picks?
