My thoughts from the game

As a crows man, I felt that the pies didnt play too badly for the first 3 quarters. You were just let down by blokes like Rocca and Tarrant (didnt do a hell of a lot). On the flip side however, I think that Dale Thomas (thinks thats his name), played an amazing game for an 18 year old on debut. Looks like a quality pick up for you guys. Hopefully Wayne Carey can have some influence on the foward line, as the talls didnt show a lot for you last night.

Isn't it just the first game?

Aren't Adelaide the favorites or second favorites to win the flag?

Didn't we play 3 quarters of reasonible footy?

Isn't Rocca still a little rusty after 11 months out?

Will 12 wins get an final 8 spot?

Will 15 wins get a top 4 spot?

Isn't there a heap of improvement still to come?

Isn't it just the first game (Oh, I've already said that)?

Correct on all counts. Rocca Tarrant Richards and Didak will be better for the hit-out - all looked very rusty. We lack depth and pace in the midfield, but we knew that already. We just have to be patient for Egan Pendlebury H Shaw Iacccobucci Thomas (despite his blinder) and others to come along at their own pace. Patience shown with Swan is starting to pay dividends and we need to show the same patience with the other kids. In the meantime we are going to look wonky against the top teams.

I thought Collingwood were pretty good apart from some skill errors

To only lose by 34 points when Tarrant and Rocca were very ineffective is not a bad effort at all.

I thought Fraser was terrific in the ruck but ran out of puff against the combination of Biglands and Clarke

Thomas looks the goods, no doubt about it.

Having said that we didn't play that great for two quarters either.

I would say Collingwood should win this week.

Buckley looked very very good in the first half.

Fraser not in the best is a joke. Thought he was great, in the paper today it said he was beaten no way. Clark does nothing around the ground Fraser had 9 marks not contested but he runs in to space. Hope he keeps it up. GO PIES
