Has lycett, duggan and nelson done enough to earn a round 1 selection?
Giles was poor in the East Perth scratch match beaten by east freo ruckmen . Lycett looks a far better option what I seen this weekendDuggan and Nelson did enough to ensure they'll be strongly considered but Lycett was poor I thought. He appears to be one of those ruckmen who can only operate at full potential when they are the number one man.
Stood over Daniher and gave him lip for being called HTB against Karps. God i love this kidNelson - keeps improving, solid, good disposal, mongrel, much to like. probably gets a gig round 1, otherwise unlucky
theres a little bit of beau waters in him and hopefully he turns into another beau waters (minus the injuries).Stood over Daniher and gave him lip for being called HTB against Karps. God i love this kid
I thought Lycett was pretty good around the ground and up forward, didn't get much of a chance in the ruck, but he only had 62% game time as well. Did more than enough to play 1st round.Duggan and Nelson did enough to ensure they'll be strongly considered but Lycett was poor I thought. Heart is the most important and a huge equalizer imoHaving the flexibility to play Gov forward or back...hhhnnnnnnngggg!!!!
Also lol at the graphic of Nelson's draft physical ratings, made him look like the biggest spud around. Unfortunately those things don't measure footy brain and general toughness, where he excels.
Thats why he slid to us late. Simmo was ecstatic with the nelson selection and he has the hallmarks to be a 200 gamer. That left foot snap for goal from 45m out was sublime.Having the flexibility to play Gov forward or back...hhhnnnnnnngggg!!!!

People need to let him play himself in. took Sinclair a few gamesI thought Lycett was pretty good around the ground and up forward, didn't get much of a chance in the ruck, but he only had 62% game time as well. Did more than enough to play 1st round.
Loved that, personally, as I'm sure that Daniher would have had no issue giving it back had the roles been reversed.Stood over Daniher and gave him lip for being called HTB against Karps. God i love this kid
Is Le Cras not good enough![]()
Let's just keep Sheppard playing where he is.......Thoughts from the game
NicNat - looks primed for a big one. Still havent seen him play forward much, maybe keeping it on the downlow until the season.
Schofield - much better 1 on 1 at elast initially, got beaten by Joe D a few times but that kid is a gun.
Nelson - keeps improving, solid, good disposal, mongrel, much to like. probably gets a gig round 1, otherwise unlucky
Shuey - gun; set for a big year
Priddis - keeps on keeping on
Gaff - will benefit from interchange cap; AA coming up
Shep - hasnt missed a beat; hopefully more of the same, maybe midfield minutes hopefully.
Darling - Like the midfield rotation, good use of his strength and fitness; plus Simmo keeping options open in case more mids go down
Yeo - much better
JK and LeCras - going through the motions today
Gov - Great disposal, not sure Simmo knows exactly what to do with Gov at this stage. No ruck work today, probably wont be used that way
Duggan - ok, needs more composure; Sheed ahead of him if fit.
Hill - in good nick, better getting involved in mid and defence
Cripps - seemed a bit down
can see shep having a lot more ball this season. Could be AA by the end of the year.
Don't worry Nelson put's him back in his boxJust watching the 1st quarter again, seeing that filth Goddard try to ankle tap Priddis just solidifies my belief that the blokes a dead set flog.
Bennell looked the best Ive seen him for awhile, thought he went ok today.
