Exhibit A

At some point people will learn to look past stats and watch a game with their eyes to gauge the impact players have

Exactly, those centre square hit outs are worth more than any kick or handball he would have. Getting the ball out of the middle with ease like Shuey and co do, will go along way to winning games. Makes life easier for our forwards with the ball coming down lace out.

This sounds funny, but the exciting thing about Nelson is how we don't need to get excited about him. He just seems to do most things well, goes about his business and now seems to have a harder edge to his game too. Can be a solid Brad Sewell type and play 200 games for this club!

I loved when the commentators were raving about him and then they showed the chart and he is listed as "below average" in every attribute. Sometimes we forget that a player can be good without being an athletic freak.

Those charts are also tested when they come out of the u/18's where training can vary greatly. Athletic ability can improve dramatically when put into a professional environment.

Giles was poor in the East Perth scratch match beaten by east freo ruckmen . Lycett looks a far better option what I seen this weekend
I am reluctant to be a fan of Lycett . I feel he will improve as he is a genuine trier . Giles would look better in an Eagles side compared to an East Perth side . Lycett is recovering from an injury riddled season . I feel he will settle down as a good backup ruckman , his leap was good (a bit early tho ) , his timing will improve and he does hit contests hard . He will play round 1

See the bit where he did a little shimmy and wrong-footed Goddard? Oh how the lols were had.
Goddard was terrible yesterday

Where did you get the last part of the quote from - the Freo board?

Correct

Was one of their higher order muppets - makes Ochre seem as bitter as Brendan Bolton on ecstasy.

papalia is like hudo and calls the game as it is. It seems like past players just dont know how to commentate. Stepehen quatermaine was another caller i enjoyed listening to.
Can't stand Huddo. Every word out of his mouth is self indulgent drivel. I imagine he records the games he calls at home and masturbates to them.

Tend to agree. Papalia is no nonsence no ego no in jokes. Just calls it and knows his stuff not trying too hard to be something they arent. Best on tv already, it better not just be a summer fill in job while the regulars are jerking each other off

Why does he need to do that?
becuase thats what good midfield/forwards do. They bag around a goal game but also have to rack up the footy and have an influence. For a nab cup yeo's 15 touches were good tho. we need more games from yeo like his gws and suns games.

just watched the replay. Anyone see mcgoverns wing out in the final quarter looking to elbow some red and black? Very silly and lucky that didnt connect

There seems to be a theme that radio commentators are better than tv commentators. Makes sense because the radio has balanced commentary to special comments whereas tv at the moment is only special comments ie. ex players talking about whatever indulges them, whereas radio requires the game to be the focus

I can't wait till he starts smashing campaingers and getting physical. Would love it if he could become a mouthy wreaking ball. :thumbsu:
If you can't beat them, destroy them!:drunk:

I like Huddo. He is the only Comm that I don't mind going off his head.
Having said that, I'll take ABC radio any day of the week over ANY comentary team anywhere.

Sprinting around witches hats in the heat of a 40 degree day would have to be the stupidest idea I've ever heard of. Its a wonder someone didn't keel over dead. All in all thank **** preseason is over and we've emerged relatively unscathed.

Dunno if I've just forgotten how fast and agile McKenzie is, or if the weight he's she'd has given him a bit more speed.
He's always been quick, and a good runner. Wasn't it against the dogs two years back he ran the lenght of the ground to kick an awesome goal?
