Not very well IMO but he wasn't alone. I guess it's a bad look because he's a more mature player but still NAB 1 doesn't matter.
Just saw the afl recap of the game,Giles was named as the eagles best.can't always believe what they say but good on him anyway

He was involved a lot because we kicked long to him heaps and he spent a lot of time rucking but he wasn't good.

In a weird way he was probably one of our best while also being soundly beaten. It was that kind of game.

He's a senior premership player that had 3 possessions against a undermanned Adelaide outfit.......No i won't be a easy tiger........

"undermanned"

LoL GTFO

I'm absolutely certain West Coast sent this team over as a big F- You to the AFL for making them travel in the Pre Season.

And yes, people should stop complaining about Jetta, he's an outside runner who relies on getting the handball out the stoppage, a bit hard to do that when your team never has hand on the ball.
Basically my thought as well. Not even fielding a full side- why send over a half decent side to Adelaide, on a hot day in the middle of feb, for a 1:30 start?

We had more contested possessions than uncontested today. That should at the very least explain jettas game today.

Like Allen got a couple. I think he and mutimor (when fit) could be very handy picks later in the draft.

Also liked McInnes' game as well- I like him as second ruck, he contests pretty well, and moves very well for a big guy.

Also, the doom and gloom in the commentary box. If you didn't know any better about our list, youd have sworn that was a strong side we listed, with only Andrew mcginnity missing. :S

There's been some speculation on sending such a depleted side ove for the game. Don't actually mind it as it gives the coaches a view on player under adversity. No easy ride for touches. Work ethic and desire required to impact contests.

+'s Allen, adamson, lamb stepping up late, McInnes, Bennell

-'s college, brophy, Duggan, Yeo, Jetta

Could list more but give the he conditions and situation its matters not. Due to the late start to pre season I'd imaging our training blocks are delayed and I think it was a little evdent in the lack of explosive movement (Jetta, Duggan and Yeo) and and lack of strength in play (schoe loosing his feet).
Meh game. Biggest highlights the first three in the +'s especially hotline, great size and mover

Duggan definitely rusty, been close to 8 months since he last played footy.

Cole looks like a faster version of Nelson, no frills honest defender.

Adamson had patches of promise. Massive shoulders.

Barrass looked good on Walker in the first quarter, out marked him once and held his own.

Hutchings battled the whole game.

Lamb looked a bit better towards the end, his endurance shining through.

Partington looked good in a couple of patches, lacked support.

Allen looks okay, just needs to learn how to time his leads a bit better.

Lucas, Colledge and Karpany are deadset spuds.

So that was Adelaide's full strength team was it Idiot !!

Besides Crouch, name their other players you think would be walk up starts.

Enlighten us.

Who was missing from Adelaide?

If you say Danger, please cancel your account.
From our likely starting 22: Sloane, Brad crouch, Troy Menzel, Charlie Cameron, Riley knight

So very close to full strength. In particular our best defensive line up was out there.

I wouldn't worry, we broke even in the most important stat of the day: injuries - nil

everyone take a chill pill. If you didnt see this result coming before hand, you're either a dreamer or really stupid.
The crows were always going to come out firing with a close to full strength squad as they had to put a good first up showing for their new coach (we did as well). Also adelaide has 2 trips interstate and wont get another opportunity to have a fullstrength side playing and this was the first and only chance for them to go hard. On the other hand our kids had no chance and our senior players may have been average but i wouldnt be surprised if they had particular instructions to not go hard. It may have been a 100 point loss but we got a win, in that theres no injuries and we also got a sneak peak at some of the talent we have available.
