hurn didnt play today tho, I rekon next week might be the closest side to our b22 and v essendon more kids will play (not as much as today tho).

will still struggle to be best 22, unless he sets the wafl on fire for a few weeks.
Weirdly I though Hurn sat on the bench for most of the game like Jetta.

Maybe, but I guess it depends on GC side. I reckon Essendon will be full strength plus we want a similar squad to rd 1.

The web works with 12ish people anyone think tom lamb could be bought in and just play a wild card role?

The point being he is much closer to best 22 as a small forward compared to a back pocket by the looks of things this year
I guess so but theres still a bit of competition from guys within the 22. If a lecca or hill goes out, then a jetta might be moved forward and they will bring someone in. He has to have a ripping year in WAFL this year, at this rate i cant see him retained next year.

Yeah thats true but i guess a full strength bombers will be as bad as a half strength suns side. Will probably see the likes of sheed, redden, lycett and cripps and the senior who misses out next week, come in for essendon.

No way Jetta would be playing that forward pocket position. If Hill/Lecras have been injured they have been using McGinnity in that role, or Hutchings. I recon Bennell is an upgrade on those two in the forward pocket. His main competition comes from Karpany. I agree he needs to perform and have a big year, but I expect that from all our players haha

jetta goes high half forward and one of hill or lecca stay closer to goal. After what i saw from bennell last year, im not a huge fan and i rather karps given a chance (performance based).

So we got belted but this thread seems to have mostly postive posts. Guessing we're just glad no injuries with the best 22 guys going at half pace?

Eagles try to not burn bridges at the trade table and look to be fair. arseh*le clubs like port look to screw over other teams ( ebert trade) but they got hit by the karma bus re essendon suspensions and hopefully again when ah chees contract is up
At the end of the trade period we traded down our 2 late 2nd rounders for pick 22 or something like that with Sydney . They wouldn't have done that if we had tried to reem them . Got us Partington which our recruiters were very happy with . Sometimes pays to be fair

I was actually really disappointed to get belted by 100 pts but with a young team and little leadership provided by the senior players its hard to be too critical. The game-plan and system appeared to be forgotten under solid pressure from a nearly full strength Adelaide .

The positives
liked what Adamson showed early
Cole showed a bit of toughness and flair
McInnes was very good .
Giles tried hard
Karpany crumbed 2 clever goals
Mallen from limited opportunities provided 2 goals
Bennell looked ok as a fwd
Snadden looks lively

He can play a wild card role, joker or ace of diamonds role

I was surprised to see the Eagles leading disposal winner with only 13 possessions, that must be a worrying sign

I give your attempt 1/10

Whilst we stood no chance with our main structural players all missing, it would have been nice if we had someone like Priddis, Shuey or NN to hold us up a bit more in the contest. One extra player risked would have meant the kids had much more of a chance rather than floundering the whole time.

Yep. It's preseason, we were up against a nearly full strength team with a team of kids. They'll learn a lot, a few guys got a run for fitness and no injuries. I'd say it ticked most of the boxes.

I now know to block "wraglesweb" before the real season starts.
You have really pissed me off i have stated two things one that Jetta's 3 possession was pathetic...Tell me it wasn't and the other that it was against a undermanned crows outfit yes they were alot more experienced than the team we fielded but still had 5 of there best out which would mean they were undermanned i mean take 5 of our best out and we would say we are undermanned wouldn't we ? And im getting thrown under the bus !! Must of been a quiet off season on here to jump on so little........
