Cain Ackland, Steven Baker, Jason Blake, Barry Brooks, Xavier Clarke, Cathal Corr, Matthew Ferguson, Aaron Fiora, Sam Gilbert, Jason Gram, James Gwilt, Andrew McQualter, Stephen Milne, Leigh Montagna, Allan Murray, Justin Peckett, Dylan Pfitzner, Phil Raymond, Michael Rix, Troy Schwarze, Justin Sweeney, Andrew Thompson, Brett Voss, Fergus Watts.

I had a try at putting together a team from the squad:

_F Pfitzner Brooks Murray

HF Raymond Watts Sweeney

_C Gram Baker Fiora

HB Gilbert Ferguson Gwilt

_B Schwarze Rix Voss

OB Ackland X Clarke Thompson

IC Peckett Montagna Milne McQualter Corr Blake

I would be trialling Brooks at FF and Rix at FB to see how they go. Blake, Ferguson or Schwarze can go back when Rix rucks, Pfitzner or Ackland can go forward when Brooks rucks.

I'd also be giving X, Montagna, Milne, McQualter, Murray, Raymond, Sweeney and Corr all runs in the midfield with Thompson to help out.

Peckett and Blake add flexibility to the bench.
With the addition of Rix, making the ruck squad more complete, Blake may be trialled in a defensive position.
Gwilt may be tried out in a key position or through the midfield to define limits to his versatility.

West Coast squad: Chris Judd, Daniel Kerr, Tyson Stenglein, Drew Banfield, Beau Waters, Ben Cousins, Michael Braun, Travis Gaspar, Josh Wooden, Mark Seaby, Damien Adkins, Daniel Chick, Rowan Jones, Mark LeCras, Dean Cox, Quinten Lynch, Jaymie Graham, Matt Rosa, Shannon Hurn, Ashley Hansen, Mark Nicoski, Andrew Embley, Steven Armstrong, Adam Selwood, Brett Jones, Adam Hunter, Brent Staker, Matt Priddis.

Geez if wce dont beat us by 25 goals i will be amazed. I will be interested to see how Shannon Hurn goes for the weegirls. The lad has a big reputation to live up to. I dont know if i would put Rix at FB though I think I would have him lead the rucks to see what he has got.

I can understand Thomas's comment about only bringing over the fringe and rookie players and its fair enough to as you dont want anyone of your big name players getting injured for round one....Well Maybe you do seeing oyur playing our mob ;)

Beau Waters and Brett Jones wont be playing (Has been confirmed) and i doubt that Cuz will play either.

Ill be going so if any of you'se want updates of some kind then feel free to send me a PM and we can excahnge phone numbers or sometihng....I need to use my credit up within a few days so why not :)

Yes, it might not be a pleasant afternoon for our WA Saints.

It's a nothing game other than for our young and fringe players to push for senior selection. Hopefully a few of them can put their hands up while the big names are resting back in Melbourne.

Itll give the chance for some of our eagles to push for senior selection aswell.....The likes of LeCras, Wooden, Adkins, RoJo, Graham, Rosa, Hurn, Armstorng and Priddis (Last two are on Rookie list but we have 2 spots to fill on Senior List)

My Line-Up for the Eagles

FB: Chick Graham Banfield
CHB: Hurn Lynch Braun
C: Rosa Stenglein Embley
CHF: Priddis Hansen Armstrong
FF: Staker Hunter LeCras

RR: Cox, Judd, Kerr

INT: Selwood, Nicoski, R. Jones, Adkins, Seaby, Gaspar

Oh and incase you didnt know due to the Heat the first and second quarter have been reduced to 20mins with no time on and the quarter time and half time breaks will be extended....1st and 2 Quarter may be cut even shorter (Depending on how hot it gets later on anything up to 40 degress is expected)

Get a grip. You have no idea what Woosha's intentions were for this game.

yes i understand. I'm hoping theres a reason behind it (perhaps, he just wanted fitness from the guys, tried guys in different roles, the weather played a part and so on ...??? ). Its just that that squad that St.Kilda threw up was so so so weak, as we know, i was hoping we'd at least beat them by a bigger margin , irrespective of what we were trying to get out of the game.

Would've been nice, but I wouldn't stress over it at all. The Saints' youngsters looked very good apparently.

Howdy Fellas,

Ill apologize before i start posting but as your teamw as a bucnh of players i had hardly heard of before i cant say much but luckily i was enar a Saints Supporter so i got talking to him who helped me out with Names and so forth

You guys played well (Alot better then i was expecting youse to)

Barry Brooks seemed to be your go to man up forward, He took some good marks and got a goal or two i think (Cant rememebr how many).

Troy Schwarze and James Gwilt i thought played well (Got a fair bit of the ball and didint waste it)

Micheal Rix looks good! Allan Murray also had a decent game...

Baker played on Stenglein all day and the battle was even in my opinion.

I cant really say much else as im not that well known for my knowledge of Saints players *wink*

But if i were a Saints supporter i would have left Rushton a happy man with how the team played.

Thanks for that Peterss. Great to hear an unbiased account.

Don't forget that most of these guys are quite talented, they just haven't made their way into the team yet (need a preseason or two to build them up)
but it is good to see that they haven't been thrashed.
