I'll bite

1st round

Kangaroos vs Collingwood @ Carrara - 30 points
The Kangaroos have primed themselves for a steller NAB Cup campaign; purely on the basis of pre season preparation they are 3-4 weeks ahead of the competition.

Adelaide vs Port Adelaide @ AAMI - 20 points
Port has the younger legs, probably a boil over but I expect the Crows to fall a bit back into the pack this season

Bulldogs vs Sydney Swans @ Manuka - 30 points
Typically the Swans are slow starters from the blocks, despite the Dogs having some injury problems of their own entering the new season, their kids should get the chocolates comfortably

Essendon vs Carlton @ Telstra Dome - 5 points
Potentially the match of the round, both will be entering the competition with virtually a full squad to choose from...I just think Essendon's extra experience may get them over the line, but it shouldn't be by much either way

St.Kilda vs Brisbane @ Cairns - 20 points
The Saints will be entering the clash well short of their best line up. To quote the Saturday Age 'On last night's form, St Kilda would finish near the bottom of the ladder.' Personally I don't think the Saints I too concerned with the NAB Cup or its form in the warm up matches.

Geelong vs Richmond @ Skilled Stadium - 15 points
On the back of a nightmare season - like the Kangaroos, the Cats should be breathing fire ahead of this clash. Anything short of a win - even against an ever improving Tigers line up, should be seen as a disappointment by a side with 3-4 more years experience then its opponents in the majority of positions

Melbourne vs Hawthorn @ the Telstra Dome - 30 points
I was speaking to a Demon supporting friend of mine last night about their prospects in the lead up to the match. His opinion was that the Demons were going to into the cup with an emphasis on playing the kids more then winning it with a full strength line up. From what I gather from the Hawks practice reports, they are pretty keen to win it and have a near full strength line up to choose from. Both sides are in different stages of development and should treat the competition differently accordingly

Fremantle vs West Coast @ Subicao – 15 points
A bit of a nothing contests between 2 sides that made the top 4 last season, having said that I think the Dockers are the more likely victors.

Quarter Finals

Western Bulldogs vs Brisbane @ the Telstra Dome - 15 points
As I mentioned previously, the Dogs are entering the NAB Cup with a couple of their senior players under injury clouds, however given the game is fixtured to be played at the Telstra Dome, class and home ground advantage should see them home against an enthuastic Lions outfit.

Hawthorn vs Essendon @ York Park - 15 points
Potentially match of the round, if results go their way, both would go into the clash considering themselves favourites. Ultimately Hawthorn's raw talent and home ground advantage should see them home against an experienced Bomber line up in prime form

Port vs Geelong @ AAMI Stadium - 20 points
Geelong's class should see them home, ultimately I think we are all expecting a better performance from the Cats in the NAB Cup

Kangaroos vs Fremantle @ Telstra Dome - 20 points
If this was a proper season game, the Dockers would most probably be near unbackable favourites, but given its a pre season fixture IMO the Kangaroos have much more to gain from a win
