My favourite was when he had possession, then ran to his right while throwing it to his left. Classic bolts.

What about that gorgeously waited handball in the second quarter to a rampaging Jed Adcock....spine tingling stuff. Only a special few footballers can pull of a play like that and luckily for us a few of them are on our list.

Nathan Lovett-Murray was in Boltons leauge tonight. Sure he got 20 odd possessions which is more than Bolts ever gets but if he is going to turn it over 8 or 9 times in those possessions then he might as well not get the ball:thumbsdown:

NLM was brilliant, he brought more brisbane players into the game than Michael Voss.

I got slammed for critisising LM over the pre-season and he proved my point tonight. He played a good game, he reads it well and gives us good rebound. But he makes constant mistakes. He fumbles below his waist, he did it several times tonight. He failed to get goal side of his opponent at stoppages. And he just doesn't use the ball well enough, often enough. Until he fixes that, he won't be a walk up start into our side.

His good is fantastic. His bad, hurts us. A lot.

I'm going to celebrate the day James Hird retires. We are going to miss him, but we'll cover him to a certain extent. But when Dustin Fletcher leaves the field for the last time, I am going to cry. He was incredible tonight.

McVeigh looked good, stronger. His strength over the ball was impressive. I hope that those that called Joel Reynolds soft, watched the game tonight. Not saying he was overly impressive, but he put his body on the line. Those that think Watson is only on the list because of his bloodlines have a lot to learn. And Brent Stanton is a freak.

Stanton, McVeigh, Fletcher share the votes for mine.

Have always agreed on Lovett Murrays disposal , not quite as vocaly as you but i have agreed.
As for Watson, the thing i like is he doesnt turn it over. When he gets his hands on it he finds one of our blokes (who then procedes to turn it over :( )

3 Stanton
2 McVeigh
1 Fletcher

Mentions to NLM & Bradley, who if they could have shut down thier opponents (which is their JOB) as well as get possessions would have featured.

Special mention to Watson. Clearly the big improver.

Wow, this is definitely the most annoyed marcuz has been in a while. Well I guess his boy Ricky didnt do all that well, but still.

Anyway
3. Mcveigh
2. Fletch
1. Stanton

:D

Ricky didnt play well but to be fair he spent the majority of the match on the pine, which was perplexing considering we lacked some polish in the midfield.

Lets not get too carried away with one loss. I cant see us being a threat for a flag but we'll be competitive as there is enough talent for sheeds to work with regardless of the opinions of the unwashed on bigfooty.

I know I'm a Geelong fan, but Essendon are my 2nd team.
Heres my votes

3. Stanton - played very well, could had two or three goals next to his name name but still, great game.

2. McVeigh - Picked up quite a few possessions and laid a few tackles. Good alround game.

1. Bradley - Looked very good across half back, should have a good year. At one point, did he play on the ball??

Special mentions to: Lovett - Murray, Peverill and Campo, who looked good at his new club.

I'm pretty disappointed Essendon lost, oh well, its only the NAB.

so after one preseason match you think your point is proven longy? I just dont notice this "bad below the knees" you and ant555 keep mentioning on all the forums. Then again I dont look for it as much as you might. NLM was really good for us last year and he will continue to improve. Longy lets just hope your boy reynolds can show something, he laid a few good tackles and put pressure on last night but didnt want to go and get the ball himself. If nlm is your biggest concern about our team then I think we are in great shape.

I don't regard this NAB rusbbish as a proper match. So no votes. I did however get entertainment at watching Bolton. Christ he is a ********ing freak show.

I'm going outside to stare at the sun now so I don't see anything as funny as that ever again in my life.
