so after one preseason match you think your point is proven longy? I just dont notice this "bad below the knees" you and ant555 keep mentioning on all the forums. Then again I dont look for it as much as you might. NLM was really good for us last year and he will continue to improve. Longy lets just hope your boy reynolds can show something, he laid a few good tackles and put pressure on last night but didnt want to go and get the ball himself. If nlm is your biggest concern about our team then I think we are in great shape.

I like the effort he puts in , his run is great and no one can doubt he tries 120% . Trouble is turnovers are the thing that annoy me most and NLM seems to be one of our worst offenders.

3.McVeigh
2.Stants
1.Fletch

L-M rebounded well, but his looseness on his opponent allowed too many shots at goal for brennan and im happy that we finally won a hitout count.

Campo and heff started well, but came in patches later.

I got slammed for critisising LM over the pre-season and he proved my point tonight. He played a good game, he reads it well and gives us good rebound. But he makes constant mistakes. He fumbles below his waist, he did it several times tonight. He failed to get goal side of his opponent at stoppages. And he just doesn't use the ball well enough, often enough. Until he fixes that, he won't be a walk up start into our side.

His good is fantastic. His bad, hurts us. A lot.

I'm going to celebrate the day James Hird retires. We are going to miss him, but we'll cover him to a certain extent. But when Dustin Fletcher leaves the field for the last time, I am going to cry. He was incredible tonight.

McVeigh looked good, stronger. His strength over the ball was impressive. I hope that those that called Joel Reynolds soft, watched the game tonight. Not saying he was overly impressive, but he put his body on the line. Those that think Watson is only on the list because of his bloodlines have a lot to learn. And Brent Stanton is a freak.

Stanton, McVeigh, Fletcher share the votes for mine.
NLM had a lot of friends in the poor disposal club.NLM is still ahead of Reynolds. Reynolds attacks the man not the ball. Anyone who played footy knows that aint toughness. As I have said a lot- Watson is good in close but unathletic. He is SLOW and will be exposed- especially Telstra Dome- our home ground. Fletcher did play on kids. Hirds leadership would have got us over the line last night.

3 - Stanton - awesome game

2 - McVeigh

1 - Bradley

- NLM did make some mistakes but I think he did enough good stuff to put him above a lot of others especially Reynolds. He was great at getting to the contest, great at providing run, and spoiled a few and put great defensive pressure on. If he had tackled Brennan and we won in overtime we would hear a much different response to his game.

- MJ, Monfries, Winderlich, McVeigh, Stanton Welsh, Lovett, Bradley, Slattery, Lucas, Lloyd all impressive

Watson - showed a bit in clearances, looks great

Dempsey/Ryder - im excited about these two. Dempsey can carry the ball and Ryder is great at tapping the ball down

Bolton - Played well, a few typical mistakes, but he was solid

Peverill - wasnt too keen on his game. Was great at some stoppages but his disposal is still pretty poor, though he does get good distance

Hille - that one hand pick up, if he could do that sort of stuff all the time, he could be great. Still seemed lost at times

- With McPhee, Hird, Laycock, Rioli and Solly all to come back, Im excited

- Hopefully this gut wrenchin loss will add fuel to the fire and keep the boys working hard

- Tactics wise, i thought we were solid. A huge improvement from last year. We could be on to something.

3 Stanton- Great runner. If he was an A1 kick we would have wrapped the game up in 3rd quarter.

2 McVeigh- was clearly over playing BP. Though it worries me that he was able to illustrate that. He came to us as an exciting mf/ hff. And this is what he will be given the chance to do this year.

1 Campo- I am a big critic of his drafting. I hate the way he plays. I dont think the elite sides have his type of player in them anymore. BUT he got quite a bit of the footy and used it pretty effectively.

 Sheedy. Brisbane used their kids A LOT. Ithought we could have used our a bit more. Ben Jolley, Dyson and Dempsey deserved more of a crack. I would have liked to see lucas back, Lloyd chf to run Big Mal around and either hille or Ryder deep.
