I'm pretty confident Deledio and Cousins will play on the wings, whilst I think our starting on ballers will be Jackson cotchin Martin , the problem is the changes and who will rotate through the midfield . Nason , Bling and Thompson ? So here's my tip round 1 !

an unusual bump but thought it would be interesting to compare best end of season side, injuries aside with peoples thoughts from the start of the year.

MT, it was a comparison from start of the year to end of year , replace nason unfortunately as I think he had a good year, with Morton .
As for those players you name in the best 22 , who would they replace ?
Going forward Cousins has obviously retired which means a potential recruit or
one of the ones you named would come in ?
As for vickery , at seasons end he was our 4th best ruckman option behind Graham, Browne and Post !!

Oh ok, just goes to show how much a side in a developing team changes from round 1 to round 22.

Also agree that Nason had a much better year then Morton.

That's a very good question who would the replace because I'm finding it very hard to put them in the squad.

I shall give it a shot though and see how I go.

Vickery just needs time, DH said a while back that he thinks he will become the premier ruckmen of the comp in a couple years time and I tend to agree, atm all and sundry can see that the kid needs at least another 15kg of muscle to even remotely compete with the best ruckmen in the comp.

And that's where I get stuck, Farmer IMO had a very good season took a while to come on and looked lost for a while, but if you go and have a look back at our purple patch when we started playing some good footy Farmer really provided a lot of run through the backline, 2 games stand out for me and that was the Fremantle game and the Sydney game when we beat them that really stand out and you can see why the club drafted him.

Tough job ahead for the MC to decide who is in our best 22, it's not like the old days when you replace a kid with a experienced player, it's young kid for young kid and trying to get as many games as possible into them.

I heard him say that, but he was more alluding to "Big Man" as in ruck/forward Ottens style. From memory he said "he will be one of the competitions elite big men in 3 or 4 years" I also agree with him. Weird how so many here are writing him off so early.

So do you seriously believe Edwards who won the Most Improved Award and was 6th in the B&F will start as an emergency? Anyone except for santa would have serious rocks in their peanut brains to think that. Just will not happen.

See him againsed Port and he was great at getting it, but was shocking with disposal and decision making, and he is similar to that at Coburg. Need a big improvement and great pre-season/Nab Cup game or two to be in the starting 22

And who knows with Foley. We still need to know if he can get through a pre-season before he can even be remotely penciled in.

I do not understand we are promising Grigg and Houli a lot of game time. So they are obviously in the team. I think Houli will be great for us, we need a player like him. Grigg is also capable. Getting these young guys cheap is great. One of them will be through the PSD and one for pick 46/50.

Really developing a list. I am a fan of Gourdis and Taylor. Gourdis though especially has a spot with the departure of Thursfields, I think that is why we just let him leave so easy. What is good about Gourdis is that he's so athletic.
