Max Power,

Cheers!!! Really appreciate it. I've had a Pentium 200 (with only 20mg left on my hardrive) for about 4 years, and it's been doing some pretty "funny"

things lately. So, I'll probably start looking around to get a burner and upgrade the hard drive (buying the one's you said

) fairly soon.... and start collecting CD's for $2.... err... i mean.... uummm.... what else are these burner things used for again???

I liked Courtney Love's views on the subject of Napster
'It's the record companies who are guilty of piracy; they take so much money at the end of the day the band might as well be working at 7-11!'

I think Napster is a good way to break the major record companies' strangehold on the industry. This could lead to better treatment for artists.

I'm having trouble with Scour. I have downloaded the software and put all mt details in but when trying to configure I keep getting a message saying "connecting to server", then "configuring" and then "offline" and that keep repeating over and over. Has anyone had this problem??

oh_my_hat...

do u go to 'file' and select 'connect' again?
if this still doesnt work, i donno how to help ya...

it works fine for me at home.. but, i do get that problem that you mention, when i attempt to use scour at uni or work..etc..
do u have a firewall, or some kind of network config that would prevent connection?

Westy.
I would stick with Seagate as well.
I have a 20gb, split into 2. 3gb on c and the rest on D.We have heaps of crap on our computer, and the 3gb is not full.
Hold off buying a new computer the prices are due to go down on intel components. The Pentium 4's are due out, so the 3's will be dirt cheap.
I work for a company that makes computers from scratch, so if you need any idea, let me know.

coxon, yep I'm doing that and I don't have a firewall to go through. I'll have to persist, if I can't get on well I'm more than happy with Napster (I have more than 450 songs without too many problems finding what I want using Napster). If I can't find a song on Napster I just disconnect and reconnect to a different server. I may have to do this a couple o times but usually I can find what I want. I may even check out audiognome and see what that is like. Thanks for your suggestion. Cheers.

CDR's can only hold 74 minutes of audio or 645 MB of data (or 80min/700MB CD's). MP3's are data files not audio files like WAV's. In fact you can hold 746MB's of WAV files on a single 74 min CDR but trying to explain that gets too technical for this time of night.

Whatever something don't sound right imho, not that I really care

Oh if anyone is interested PriceLine around the country are selling cheap BASF CDR's next week only for $12.99 a box of 10. Which is $2 off the normal price. A good bargain. Me I prefer Kodak Ultima's for $14.95 a box at JB Hi-Fi in Camberwell but the BASF's are OK to burn data and mp3's.

If you go to the Dandenong Market you can get BASF box of 10 for $12.50 every week...
