Just my opinion that 3 x first rounders + a 2nd is waaay too much for one player. Nas is great but the hype is just a bit silly, that's the AFL media machine not reality. I know he's your best player.
Hes not just our best player hes a top 5 player in the league right now.

I tend to agree that 3 firsts just isnt really doable but lets not pretend hes JUST the saints best player.

The top 5 is very liquid, but yes he's projecting very nicely. There's at least 4 players at the crows I wouldn't trade for him, but team is worth more than one player, so there's that bias too.

Adelaide is a bit different, youre top of the ladder, what youve got clearly works. No doubt bringing him in to your side would be nice but its a very different prospect to Port or Us.

Call it liquid if you like but as of right now when his value is the critical aspect, it matters and its stated.

I know but you seemed to take offence that I said he was your best player and i didn't place him as the leagues' best (top 5) player - which I didn't mean.

Going by your value assessment Ed Richards would worth how many first rounders? As a thought exercise.

I didnt take offence, but someone being the saints best player means nothing. Norths best is probably LDU or Larkey and theyre worth alot less than a top 5 player in the comp.

No idea, Eds not the dogs best player and they sit in the middle of the ladder. It would depend where he wants to go etc etc.

If Nas says Adelaide id argue you have to give up a player somewhere cause your pick is going to be nearly 30 by the time it comes.

If Nas says Port and they had their 25 first they could likely package some picks up.

As it stands none of those things are gonna happen, probably why there is 138 pages of back and forth, cause there is no obvious answer.

I agree with the original sentiment, 3 firsts for any player is just too hard to make work.

Ed is rated the number 1 player in the AFL.

But we agree so it's moot. Good luck, I hope Port don't get him.

Champion data... sure.

The dogs best players are Bont and Darcy, find me someone who says different.

This.

At various points this season the media have declared all of these players top 5 in the comp:

N Daicos, Bont, Dawson, Darcy, NWM, Thilthorpe, J Cameron, Richards, Holmes, Anderson, Rowell, Gawn, Day, Serong and possibly others too.

All great players, sure, but a bit hard to fit 15+ into 5.

Good thing we’re discussing it now relative to a player potentially wanting a trade.

Nas is my boy, league top 10er 💯

'No player is worth 3 firsts straight up!' Well, that's subjective. If Port only had 8, 15 & 18, well, they would all be going to StKilda for Nas, straight up. Shit, Port may also need to throw in steak knives for just Nas!

Picks 3, 4, and 12, however, is too much. If you had those picks in 2019, you could have walked away Luke Jackson, Ash or Serong or Young and Pickett or Day or Warner.

If Butters stays, I cant see it getting done.

No player has ever been traded for 3 first rounds straight up. That's objective

The whole “first round pick” thing is just lazy. Heaps of players are worth 3 first rounders, especially with these compromised drafts. The same player who is worth 3 first rounders can also be worth only 1 first rounder depending on where they fall.

Not saying NWM stays but if that is one of the most rubbish quotes I've ever read.

He heard from somewhere... that probably (someone)... might be advising him in the future not to do something.

Reads like a Jack Sparrow quote.

Yeah I wouldn’t be reading too much into that. He’s renowned for sprouting vague statements to try and attach himself to whatever might eventuate.

😂 jack sparrow
Must admit I read it twice and thought this bloke went to school at the Derek Zoolander school for “kids who don’t read too good..”

Butter's manager has come out and said he will not be part of any trade for NWM and that he will be playing for Port in 2026. Interesting if true.
