It seems every time i watch Nathan Brown and Connors play some of there characteristics that they both potray are unbelievably similar. Especially the way they both go around baulking and kicking unbelievable goals.
Obviously Connors is no were near the level that Nathan was before his injury, or to some degree the form he is showing now. But i think its time we give this kid a long hard look , because although he may have turned up over weight and unfit. He has that "x factor", & maybe we give him a call up like we did with foley ? :D

Connors will take time to build up a motor.

He was very close to selection last week and i dont think he played to badly on the w/e for the Burgers. I reckon we will see him within the month maybe Vs. Demons or something like that.

If you ask me Daniel Conners is overrated.

There I said it!

He doesn't do enough at VFL level. He is very Travis Johnstone like, excellent going foward, but does nothing on the way back. He tries to go one handed two many times when he has time to go for two hands. He should be a star, but I'm not suprised why he fell so far in that draft, if recruiters thought saw the same things.

He struggles with the second and third efforts because he nees to build his fitness level up, sum players take longer. He has all the tools.

Bugger all to do with his fitness, its all above the shoulders. Have a look at the highlighst package on www.vflfooty.com and watch him after he takes the big mark. Looks very much to me like he thinks he is special and to be honest has had that same attitude whenever I've seen him this year and last. I couldnt believe in another thread someone compared him to Foley. Couldnt be more poles apart. Foley is all about plain bloody hard work, humility, adapting himself to meet what is required and a willingness to do the team thing. Someone needs to get into his head and fast before we lose all the potential that lies below it.

Even Browny was a skinny kid who showed very little for his first couple of years, he was taken early in the draft but his work ethic early wasn't great.

Wherever he is with his development lets hope he learns to dish it off to players in better positions rather than have a shot. Not like Browny on Sat night.

That is a good call. Very selfish on Sat night

He actually reminds me a bit like Hilton.

oh, you didnt like the beautiful lay up by Browny in the last Q that had a charging richo take a ripping mark bursting through two opponents on the line....Now that was Poetry:thumbsu:

It's a bit of both but they are related. He looks a little lazy and that probably has contributed to his lack of fitness, but in his defence he did have and injury plagued preseason. Has all the talent required to be a star but needs to apply himself and work really hard. has to stop trying all the flashy stuff and just concentrate on getting fit and breaking back into the Richmond side.

The time has come to give Connors a sniff.

If his problems are attitude/fitness an assignment in the ones on someone like o'keefe will wake him up in more ways than one. Give him a carrot: tell him this is how highly we rate you; let him discover for himself how far away he is and what he needs to do.
I want him chasing o'keefe til he spews, wipes his mouth and chases again. Tell him it's there if you want it son. Take it.
