Do you believe every player is mercenary? Why do players like Reiwoldt play for less money than they were offered by other clubs.

Freeman left because he was pissed at Collingwood made the decision to leave and stuck to that decision even after he was offered more money by his club.

Maybe he thinks the big payday is in the future after he gets his body right, something it seems he had no confidence in Collingwood being able to do.

No idea how from my one simple post that you get the idea that I think every player is a mercenary. Now that is one big leap. I believe in order Freeman left firstly for opportunity which has been well reported, then the extra money which I believe to be true and you don't which is fine and lastly being pissed off with the pies. I actually know that to have only played a real small part. The rest is guess work based on what I call sound knowledge but lets face it unless you are the player, the manger or heavily involved in the club none of know much about what players earn.

Actually the part about mercenary was a question hence the ?

As for the rest, as I posted it was my opinion.

I don't think players go just for money, or just because they are pissed off.

Things are a lot more complicated that that in real life.

Who knows, he may hated the coach as well, or Davoren. He may have thought it was best psychologically, it may be a whole range of other things or it could be none at all.

I agree with you that it is a bit of a silly pissing contest trying to argue that St.Kilda is somehow better than Collingwood now in general because of one example that may or may not prove to be the case.

Did Collingwood up their offer? Probably, was it more than the Saints? Maybe or maybe it was less in $ per year but more in years. 4 year @ 275k is more than 300k in pure dollar terms over that period, or maybe we offered more.

Did we even offer 300k? As you say none of us really know unless we are his agent.

not this week playing at all. although according to tony 74 from SS he is training.
 
The penny might be finally dropping for a few Pies supporters. More injuries and the spotlight has finally started to point towards our old mate Billy Davoren. A few callers to SEN have started to point the finger today.

Wait until the great unwashed realise that they've lost a highly talented and promising young player due to incompetence from their highly costly football department.
