? Gone?

Can't say I'm too bothered with Freeman's decision, we look ok in the midfield for the foreseeable future (potentially excellent) and if it gives us another piece to help secure Treloar or Aish I think we've done well.
I hope we keep kennedy especially with the supposedly weak draft this year.

We can't make him go anywhere.

He is uncontracted and disillusioned with the club.

He will tell us where to trade him, and if we disagree we lose him to the PSD.

Unfortunately we cant just ship him to the highest bidder, it'll be the saints 2nd round pick.

If NM match the offer from the Saints he may open up to going there but that's about it. It'll be up to other clubs to try and gain his interest, our hands are completely tied. I think there'll be a bit more to play out with this though because I don't see it being clear cut like it is with Dangerfield and Geelong for instance (and even with that being 100% from day 1 people try to fantasize...).

He played 4 games (?) in the VFL in 2 years for us and we played him when he wasnt ready. I call bulldust.

20 year old man thinks he knows more about medicine than club doctors, he'd fit right in on BigFooty.

whats the same thing about michael jackson and nathan freeman they both played 0 games for the club. Also his manager must be good to get a $300 0000 year contract on someone who could be potetianlly good

I think I heard MJ on a track on Trav's pre-game routine....ergo, he contributed a sh!tload more than Freeman.

Just to put this in perspective this thread was on page 19, 12 days ago.
that was my fault ask the bloody q, freeman were are you, and looked what happened

Good riddance, what a nerve. Asking for more money after 4 games in the VFL over 2 years. Seems to me that he thinks he is better than he is, a bit arrogant if you ask me.

I think he supported St Kilda as a kid and there have been media whispers for a while now St Kilda were interested.. I think it's very very likely he has already made up his mind where he is going after announcing he wanted to be traded...

That's okay though, not every kid wants to play in a premiership.

According to 1116 SEN, Collingwood put a deal to Nathan Freeman of two years, with a 'base' salary of between 150-200k.

Incentives were included of 10, 12 and 16 games played, which would have netted Freeman in excess potentially of 400k a year, combining match payments and his base salary.

The contract put to Freeman also had activation clauses of a higher base salary dependent on his 2016 season.

So in other words he didnt back himself to play 16 games

Are you talking about his VFL stint? Because that doesn't make any sense
I could be wrong, but I think it was the VFL, Balme said “He wasn’t injured and he could have played on but he was having a little bit of trouble just getting fully comfortable with his hammy, it was giving him a little bit of trouble." I definitely don't have any inside knowledge though, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

If true, good riddance to him and good luck Saints with an overpaid injury prone player.

What I heard he did not really want to be at Collingwood and soon as another team put a better offer to him. He was gone ASAP

Very interesting if true and absolutely agree with what sirlothie says if true. Clearly has such little faith in his body he can't back himself at which point you'd think we might actually be getting the best for the club in a crazy scenario :S

I don't think it's about faith in his body... It's about how big a gamble you take.

Let's say St Kildas offer was was 300k per year.
And we offered something like 150k plus 10k per AFL game. (Potentially 370 per year) ... Or a contract with only the first year garaunteed with future years dependant on games played.

No matter how much faith you have in your body, if you haven't been able to get healthy enough to play a single game in 2 years, and if you consider that this might potentially be his last contract at AFL level (if he continues to have long term injury) - the garaunteed money is clearly the smart way to go.

I am disappointed that we weren't able to find a comprimise with Freeman, but I am happy that we haven't stretched to offer him a long-term garaunteed contract if we have doubts of his future, and I don't have any problem with Freeman deciding to take the garaunteed money.

If this is true, we should have done better analysis/interviewing of him before drafting him.

He played his VFL games after dominating our time trials and having a full preseason with zero issues... saying he wasn't ready is complete bullshit, the reason he went in for surgery after his VFL games is his hamstring never originally healed (and was NEVER going to heal naturally). Not being ready is complete tripe, not playing wouldn't of helped anything.

Did our medical staff mismanage his hamstring at a point(s)? I think so, but that's a very different question, your rumour is just people making up shit.

Maybe he did not show that during the Interviews. Think he was most Pissed at Collingwood Fans the Most
