If that's true why didn't Shazza seek a trade given his huge injury problems?

Scharenberg had no soft tissue injuries.

He had a pre-existing foot complaint prior to drafting. He had bones removed from his foot 6 weeks into his career.

He then did an ACL. That is an impact injury in a game. Both injuries are unrelated to the conditioning and are no relation to soft tissue injuries.

PicaBoo,

I don't post on EB&W but the one question I would have of this 'Family Friend' is why did he choose StKilda over North?

North's High Performance Manager Director Sports Science & Training Services, Steve Saunders is very highly regarded.

One would have thought that North come out in front of StKilda on an injury management and prevention point of view?
Apparently his family lives in Dingley and are Saints supporters.

On Freeman - how about a results based trade - round three this year (based on injury/no form) to be swapped for next years round 1, 2 or 4 depending on whether he gets on the park!!!!

Freeman is an investment that has not worked out. As such its time to cut our losses and get the best deal on the way out.

Like any investment, Freeman may come good, he may be a bust. The important thing now is to minimize the loss to us by getting the best deal.

Footy is an emotional business but when it comes to trading of players I think you need to remove emotion from the equation.

Linda you are correct. Always the voice of reason. All that experience understanding men should not be underestimated. A beacon!

Connors-It's not just about money but about opportunity. He also said Collingwood aren't chasing Aishe because we have enough depth in the middle.
Yep the interview was all about trying to make it seem like Freeman is not leaving for the money. That he's a quality kid.....that it's all about football opportunities.......the Pies were desperate to keep him.

He was asked about Freeman's fitness in regard to his hammy and mumbled some answer that sounded to me like there may be still some issues.

And as pointed out above, he reckons that the Pies are so satified with their midflield depth after Treloar comes on board and we are not even chasing Aish.

I don't post either. That question was raised , no answer. Most likely the only club insane enough to throw at him the money that he wants
I call bulldust on 'Family Friend'. That whole dialogue sounds exactly like mick39 has been blurting out about Freeman here last night. Sounds very fishy to me. Why would a 'Family Friend', who is not a Collingwood supporter, feel the need to seek out that particular board to explain things. Reeks of troll imo.
Part troll I reckon. First time I heard about injections thrown in the discussion . But why would any 'family friend' post on EB&W and not somewhere else. And the defense is a bit dubious tbh. Verdict is MagPie supporter with only bit of knowledge.

Well given his hammy issues, you would imagine the club looked at multiple solutions to get him right. If he got injections it would have been viewed as required to get him back to 100% fitness.

EBW is a toilet of a site, the worst Magpe site by a mile. Very negative on everything and if they disagree with you they just delete your posts. Its a circle jerk site and anything on there should be treated as dubious.

I'm certain I've heard about him getting injections from someone. Not that fanciful, I believe it may be common practise for injured players.

Connors did dance around the hamstring issue this morning. I'm certain it's a major reason why he is leaving.

Probably PRP(Platelet Rich Plasma) injections which I've had for knee and achilles issues. Depending on where they're being injected they hurt like hell eg. achilles.

I havent posted anything on it yet because im always cautious of criticising a player about moving clubs before knowing all the facts.

On the surface, i am very dissapointed as i had high hopes for this kid and we invested a lot in him.

However, if we did mismanage his injury then i dont blame him for looking elsewhere. I mean we are likely going to sack our high performance managet and the club has performed an internal audit of our injury issues. So its not like we can claim innocence here. A 2 year hamstring is unheard of.

But id like to think freeman wouldve shown a bit of loyalty.

Anyway these things happen at all clubs. You cant have 100% player satisfaction. The clubs culture has improved because those who havent bought in have been shipped off, regardless of the name.

Moving on, id like to think we can get a decent trade. If we deal directly with st kilda then the best we can hope for is their 2nd rounder, and i think they will give it to make the trade happen smoothly.

However, id like to get a 3 way trade going. Id also like to think Aish becomes part of the talks. If saints send their 2nd to brisbane and we also send our 2nd, we will get aish. That would somewhat ease the pain of freeman leaving as we would have picked aish at pick 10 if he was there.

How about no

Yes, I had injections into the achilles about a decade ago. Its incredibly painful for the first couple of injections, after than the local anaesthtic starts to kicks in and its just uncomfortable. I only swore loudly when the first injection went in, she told me other patients have nearly hit her. And I had to get both feet done and it was 4 weeks for each foot. Much pain, but it worked.

I think this would be a great outcome.

Overall if we pick up Treloar and Aish for the cost of our first 2 draft picks plus Saints 2nd rounder, Freeman and maybe 2nd rounder of 2016 it would be an excellent outcome.

St Kilda Football Club.

2 schoolgirls, 1 cup and a whole lot of turds.

Put that in Latin and there is your new motto.

The reason why we didn't offer him anything other than an incentive based contract would be we didn't think he was worth the risk. The reason why StKilda offered a flat 300k is because they think he is.

Under that trade we take on the risk for St Kilda. Under different circumstances where we're wanting to help the player find another club it may have merit and I can see why you want to do it, but given Freeman's walked out it's as fanciful as some of the other dream trade scenarios suggested by your fans.

Connors said recently that Freeman's hamstring wasn't a 10 year hamstring or some such, in other words it would come good and the pies should do the deal.

Collingwood has, according to reports, offered a more lucrative deal to Freeman should this be the case and he plays senior games, as would be expected and hoped from a #10 draft pick.

Freeman walks anyway.

Stuffed if I can work Connors comments out.

So he claims Freeman is leaving for opportunity, yet we're happy with our depth and won't be bringing Aish in. While they didn't get many games Dwyer and Seedsman are on the way out and both played some seniors. While Treloar will add top end talent, without Aish or similar our departures mean we're carrying less depth than this year and as we've seen the last few years chances will come.

Maybe Conners knows we are getting another midfielder from somewhere hence the lack of interest in Aish??

If that's the case why are we offering Freeman the lucrative contract that Maxwell apparently mentioned on SEN yesterday?

He's a #10 draft pick, there's probably 8 - 10 spots in a modern midfield rotation, surely he should look at that and say there's a spot there for me and I'll earn big money if I grab it.
