I can understand money being a factor but all he needs is some reassurance he will be well paid once he develops in fact better paid than he ever will be at the saints. Big picture.
Is that your players pre game drink? It would explain a lot
Mick you keep putting up lots of specific information ab out Freeman and Collingwood which implies a very close link to the club. A 12 game trigger in a contract for instance would be generally known by very few.The deal to Freeman would have eclipsed the St. Kilda offer if he reached the 12 game trigger (VFL or AFL).
So it's hard to say money is the reason he moved. The St. Kilda offer was more secure than the Collingwood one.

That may be Nathan Freeman as a child
We would bite your hand offSeeing as we'll have to use pick 5 for Carlisle if push comes to shove with Dodoro at Essendon... I've heard word that we may try to trade our 2nd & 3rd picks to Sydney for their 1st pick around 14 (as they're more concerned with points, not picks, for their academy players)
Pick 14 for Freeman? Fair?

Can you give us some detail about how you are getting the info?

Can always rely on Clokey to drive us home safe.Is that your players pre game drink? It would explain a lot
How could Collingwood offer him more money than the Saints eventually?I can understand money being a factor but all he needs is some reassurance he will be well paid once he develops in fact better paid than he ever will be at the saints. Big picture.
One of my closet mate knows his old man and can confirm he was being injected too.
I have questioned to a degree the turnover last few years. Still think Heater and Beams were the biggest losses. Still even there we have received some good compensation. In 2015 the situation is no where near as dire. Freeman is a potential loss but his value has drifted in the last 2 years whether we keep him or not. He no longer has the certainty of a pick 10. PK and Seedsman are the sort of losses all clubs have most years, no biggies there. If it was as simple as we have high standards we would win a lot more games - unless we can't draft talent all of a sudden which would seem a stretch. Players leave if they aren't happy. Good clubs don't loose many good players. Hawks lost Buddy to the biggest contract in history to a club with more cap than they had. Dogs lost players and clearly had issues to which they responded. Essendon are losing players and have obvious issues. Brisbane is a club players don't want to be at (generalisation of course). Carlton are losing players because they are a rabble and have been for a decade.
On the other hand, we are doing everything right and players want out because of that. It just isn't feasible. The number and sustained trend is alarming. It was alarming last year and many said we'll see what happens. well now we've seen what happens and the same excuses and blaming of players continues from the punters.
Not sure what that means. Can always rely on Clokey to drive us home safe.

Are you crazy??It's overs, IMO, but it's a creative way to get the value closer. In this example I'd throw our third rounder back. Overall it's pretty realistic considering the second and third round picks just get used for points anyway.
Clokey had a DUI about five years ago.Not sure what that means.
Is Cloke known as a pisshead? He doesn't appear that type.
You could have used Swanny as an example

Say thanks for being so thoughtful, gleefully accept it and walking away happy.
Interesting idea, pretty sure we'd definitely do that, although the gain for Sydney is pretty marginal. Pick 14 is 1161 and pick 22 + 40 = 1274. Maybe we'd have to throw in a late pick for Sydney tooSeeing as we'll have to use pick 5 for Carlisle if push comes to shove with Dodoro at Essendon... Common practice in major sports leagues around the world.
We have a pretty good record of getting players to their preferred destinations. Even seeking out new homes for those heading for delistment (Kid we managed to get North to take, Ben Something??, Tom Young etc) I think Hine is too professional to be sending players to the draft out of spite. Freeman will get to St Kilda without doubt.Absolutely not. We have to prove our behaviour is above that of Freemans and Connors, to establish that we are a club of integrity that players would want to be at. Why stoop to their level?
Besides, we might need that pick to land a decent player or help land Treloar. Something is always better than nothing, so as long as StKilda value Freeman trade value in line with how they value his just-under-a million dollar salary contract, let a deal be done.
