In anticipation of the upcoming NBA Playoffs which are now locked and loaded I thought I'd get this thread going for those who will laying bets on the NBA playoffs.

At first glance we have (@ = higher seed/home-court advantage):

Orlando @ Detroit
I seen Detroit as a team who could make a shock early exit this year. However they have landed a great match-up in Orlando whom I consider the weakest playoff contender even though they came home on a tear.
These teams played on 11 April - Det 104-99
Detroit should be able to shut down the likes of Turkoglu and capitalise of Nelson's inexperience and turnovers. Howard is the only force in the paint and will need to have a lot of production on the offensive end however this is not realistic against the likes of McDyess, D.Davis, C.Webber & R.Wallace

Detroit win series... drop 1 game max.

Washington @ Cleveland
These two teams meet again, they have some great series in recent history however Arenas is out. Washington have won 3 of 11 this month. Cleveland have gone 6 of 9. Seems Cleveland have got REALLY lucky.

Cleveland win series... drop 1 game max.

New Jersey @ Toronto
NJ went 7 of 9 for month, including winning over Chicago who were aiming for #2 seed. However note four of these wins came against New York and Washington, another from Indiana. You'd have to suspect Toronto is locked and loaded for this battle, however I find them unconvincing in terms of the talent (unproven)... but they have put results on the board.

Toronto wins series... not sure how it will pan out.

Chicago @ Miami
Massive round 1 match-up. Not what you want really. You've got Shaq matched up with Ben Wallace again. Young talant vs wise experiences players. Miami recently lost to Charlotte twice, and arent convincing.
Ben Gordon, Deng, and Hinrich have all have scoring power and I think with Wallance neutrilising things with Shaq Chicago are primed to take this one.

Chicago wins series... drops only 1 game.

... ok this is taking too long, in short..

Dallas beat Golden State
Phoenix smash LA Lakers
San Antonio only just falls over Denver
Houston smash Utah

No Arguements

4-0

Toughie. Should go to 7. :thumbsu:

Bulls: 4-2

... ok this is taking too long, in short..

Dallas beat Golden State

4-1 but I really hope GSW do more to those Dallas *****.

Phoenix smash LA Lakers

Kobe will try and play better basketball in play-off games (more like his game today) but I cant see them getting over Phoenix. Barbosa will dominate.

San Antonio only just falls over Denver

Denver struggle to build leads alot and the Spurs are too good in the clutch.
4-1

Houston smash Utah
Closer than people think if AK decides to apply himself(Might need another "Free Night" from his wife ;)). Utah have to find early season form and I dont know if they can.

4-2.

A good ramble there. :)
......

Houston - Utah is an interesting matchup.

Ming, Mutombo... vs Boozer

or you look at it as ... Boozer vs Ming (with Mutombo's assistance defensively)

McGrady is obviously your game winner for Houston with not much of a supporting cast?

Whereas you've got Okur, Williams, Harpring, Kirilenko... Fisher? making up a solid Utah line-up, not much depth however...

I duno... on second thoughts maybe Utah take this one out. I dont think it will go the distance, one team will dominate, hmmm

Denver & Utah @ $34 are val.

yeah, because they wont win. Denver is a lot better chance than Utah I'd say. They have a lot more height, matched with scoring power.

Got on the Warriors today to beat the Mavericks. Also backed Denver and Houston there is money to be made during the finals series.

Good luck with Warriors. Well done on Denver and Houston.

Yeah thanks mate, i really like the Warriors and they play really well against the Mavs, hopefully they shut down Nowitzki. How are you going on the punt with the bball?

yeah - not really doing much lately as I dont have the net at home. Just moved and getting in on. Plus with the baseball i've been multi'ing up but missing a leg with that. for example today I went

San Diego (MLB), Texas (I think), into Cleveland, Dallas & Phoenix. Paying 4.60.... but San Diego fell thru.

I've been looking thru all of the say 14 baseball games for each day and trying to pick out the 2-3 best. Was working until today. I might be better served to have boxed multis with centrebet where if I get 1 or 2 wrong I can still structure it to pay ok. (ie. I can have 8 legs including the nba playoffs)

Got on the Warriors at $11.50 to win their series vs the Mavs.
Tough ask, but they are definitely capable of doing it. Don't forget they swept their season series this year 3-0.
Looks as though they are about to go 1-0 up in this series, too-up by 10 with about 5 minutes to play.

Yeah but I got them at $11s.

Only $10 though to be cautious but it'll still be a good collect.

Personally I couldnt put my hard earned on 'the warriors'... to me Dallas are still Dallas, the team that were red hot favourites for the majority of the year.

Golden State, playing fantastic, coming home strong... but the are still 'the warriors'... Davis... Jackson... the most unreliable guys in the league. haha

I think the cream will rise to the top in the end. Basketball tends to follow the form that the stronger teams always triumpth even when they look weak.

see what happens though... best of luck to you.

Looks like it'll still be a good ride.

Better than putting it on Orlando, LA or Washington as outsiders. :thumbsu:

Totally agree - perhaps better putting it on none of them, haha.

Warriors 4-0 this year... makes for an interesting sub-plot

I got the better odds :p

I only put $10 on it as well, so it isn't exactly a big bet. If I lose, I lose a small amount, not too worried about it. But if I win, I'll gladly take the winnings.

I got money on the warriors to win too. I love the Mavs, like my 2nd team i kinda follow, but they need to do some seriously good coaching to just get over the line against golden state for some reason. every team has their bogey side i guess.

i got 30 bucks on the warriors to win, and i put 10 on Utah to win against my rockets, just so i get some financial sympathy if they lose lol :(

I shoulda done the same thing mate

$3.45 on offer for the line/match score double tomorrow - Lakers +9.5/Suns -9.5 and Over/Under 207.5, first game was well under this score so that might be the go, can LA get within the line or will Suns win by double figures?

Detroit-Orlando game under 74.5% free throw percentage. :thumbsu: $1.80

72% :thumbsu:

Closer than I thought it would be because they didnt go to town on Dwight to the line.

Where bouts did you place that bet? I didnt realise you could bet on things like that.

I think the Suns will be easy tomorrow but i do think it will be over 207.5, will probably have something on that alone and then back LA to win in game 3.

I'm also on Ben Gordan(+3.5) @ $2 today to score more points than D-Wade.

Chicago-Miami 1st quarter Over 46

LA-Phoenix 1st quarter Under 52.

At half time, your first bet is looking good-Wade has 10, Gordon has 16.

Chicago-Miami bet was a good one-Chicago 31 and Miami 21=total of 52.

Your 3rd bet looks great IMO-game hasn't started but I reckon that will happen. What odds did you get on the Chicago/Miami game and the Lakers/Phoenix game? And how much did you put on the 3 bets?

Just guessing but i would say he would of got about $1.80-$1.90 for that option. I like Lakers/Suns over 207.5.
