I still think Cavs will be hard to beat in the East.
West is wide open. New look OKC have a real nice looking list, if they can mesh and stay healthy. I'll go with Golden State though. Memphis and Portland could be right there abouts too. Could depend on matchups.
I'll back the Cavs for the 'chip, honestly.

yep Cavs in East. Atlanta only other possibility.

West is hard as usual. GSW look to be the best and play offfs are a different beast. Spurs are slowly starting to click, okc hitting their straps and memphis and Rockets are ok. If I had to pick one right now I would say GSW....with not that much confidence

The West is going to be a war.
With the East i'd favour Cleveland in the playoffs to come out of it. This feels tough on Atlanta with their impressive record. Toronto is another. Indiana is the dark horse should they make the playoffs and depending on what they can get out of Paul George.

Cavs for the East, and GSW for the west.

For the championship, if the Spurs play there best, they can't lose, but they've been far to inconsistent this season. Think the cavs will take it home this time.

Not sure what the Spurs are doing. But if it clicks they're the best team. Could very well be playing possum.
OKC on paper looks scary. Of course you don't win game on paper. But it just looks way deeper now what they've gone out and got. With Durant out and pieces taking time to gel maybe it's too tough of an ask. But wouldn't want to play them first up.

I'd be surprised if Cavs get pushed to more than 5 games in the East. Atlanta is the only team that might take them to 6.

West is anyone's. It's just going to be whoever is playing well come the right time of the year. Also will depend a lot on injuries. I would pick GSW if they had made it to at least a WCF in a previous season.

Just based on Cavs being a 80% chance of making the finals and no one in the West being more than a 25% chance, you have to go with Cleveland as the favorite to win the Championship, even though I'd say the West is a 70% chance of beating the East. For you that are bad at math that's (0.8x0.3) > (0.25x0.7)

MVP - I think someone other than Steph will win it and it's due to people caring more about how a player plays the final 3 months than the duration.

I'm not sure why everyone is so set on the Cavs being garaunteed to come out of the East.
Yes Lebron will be Lebron, but Kyrie and Love have played a grand total of ZERO playoff games so far in their careers... and so far, Love doesn't strike me as someone who is going to take his game to the next level when the pressure is on. (Kyrie will step up, IMO - but Love will be exposed in a long series against either the Hawks or a healthy Bulls team). And after that you have JR who will have 1 big game a series, and then I series of guys who I'm not sure how well they will do in the playoffs. (Delly will be useful, I'm not sure about Mozgov or TT in the playoffs, don't think we'll see much of Perk, and then the vets who will be useful for about 1 game each).

Really it comes down to how good will Lebron be?
Has he been coasting all year? (and I know it is very harsh calling a 26-6-7 season "coasting") Or is this 12 long seasons of basketball catching up with his body? Can he carry this team to a series win over a Hawks team who is doing a great job at emulating the '13-'14 Spurs, or a Bulls team that, if healthy, is scary... and noting that the Cavs will likely not have home court against either team.

A lot of it comes down to how healthy the Bulls are. If Rose and Butler are healthy (no idea where Gibson's at) and get 1-2 weeks of regular season games, and a comfortable first round - then they would probably be my team to beat. Otherwise I love how the Hawks are playing - and in a 7-game series it is tough to beat great team basketball at both ends of the floor. (what the recent Pacers were lacking against the Heat).
Look the Cavs probably are favourites, just because of Lebron, but I would put it 40-30-30 at most - and I'm not sure if they could come through two tough series' against those two teams on the road.

As for the West - who knows. I think I said at the start of the season that it would be anyones game, and that is even more true now. I did not expect Memphis or Portland to be this good, or for the Warriors under Kerr to not need any time to transition. Nor did I expect the Spurs and Thunder to struggle. Anyone out of the West could get through... though Golden State and Memphis are probably the favourites - and I would pick either in a series against an Eastern Conference team.

Actual Pick - GSW over Cleveland. (or GSW over Chicago if the Bulls are healthy).

Either way, I would be happy as long it's not the Cavs winning... and I would consider a Warriors or Hawks victory to also be a Spurs win :p. (just because of how close, reportedly, these guys still are with Pop and what has been called the Spurs "family")

The playoff experience is a concern but I like the pieces Cleveland have built around Lebron.
I'd probably have Cleveland over Atlanta in 7 games. Just feel the playoff intensity, half court sets and slowing down of the game suits their MO.

To the guy who said Toronto to come out of the east. Biggest joke I've heard in a long long time. Coach Casey is a spud and their a rabble.

Cavs and bulls ecf

For what it's worth i give Toronto the conference semis. I think their backcourt can get hot but ultimately what they lack up front will limit them.

Yeah demar and Lowry can get hot. I think the best they can do is semis but I feel the wizards might do them in the first round.

I have a feeling the raptors will beat the spurs tomorrow

I think GSW are winning the ring just too settled and played brilliant ball all season, spurs and Cavs are also chances but can't really see anyone else.( OKC have been burnt by injury all season otherwise they would have some hope)

Bucks V Pelicans.

Fear the Deer, Fear the Brow

AD to take them over the line and jod23 to die of auto erotic asphyxiation.

Honestly though would just love a good finals series between some fresh faces in the finals. Sorry Spurs.
