I wish. It's not available (legally) in Oz as far as I know.

As good as the torrents are, I'd pay the $50-60 US or w/e it is to avoid the hassle.

I looked into this a few years ago, you can get Hong Kong cable that beams the station, but the station won't be picked up here it gets blocked out.

Essentially the 'footprint' isnt made to travel further than China and thus you cant even de-scramble the feed like other channels.

Having lived in the US before, and having it, I know exactly what Im missing out on so it hurts. I like Funky would also easily pay way over market for it.

About christmas I shot off some emails and made some phone calls. Foxtel/Optus have no plans to offer it to subscribers even though obviously it would make them some nice $$$. I also emailed the NBA who also said they have no plans to move NBA TV into Australia. A bit peeved off I tried to buy the league pass, however this isn't available for Australian residents either so it looks as though for at least this season we'll have to make do with Wednesday through Saturday's on Fox and ESPN.

That tells me that the NBA don't really care about Australia, Those same with NFL Network and the Other Main Sports Channels

They are pricks.

They coulds make a killing seeling to niche markets, and NBA fans fit right in the target demographic (18-40 yo males) of who spends the money.

Wasnt the whole point of satellite TV being that it could cater to niche markets such as this?

Yes I agree, although logistically it could be a handful to introduce...and even then I'd think a similar set up to Setanta would eventuate (I can't subscribe to Setanta because I am an Optus Vision customer and not a foxtel one).

But yes if available I would pay a yearly/monthly fee no matter what it is.

You can watch the games over the net on the nba site with NBA League Pass broadband, the games that you don't watch live you can watch for 48 hours after they finished. They have had this for the last 2 years but didn't offer it until a month into the season last year. They seem to be going the same way as the MLB this year though with the mosaic look where you can watch several games at once.

Very good quality as well :thumbsu:

Where the hell did you find this? I looked as late as Feb I think and found nothing. Australia just wasn't on the list of countries being offered league pass.

It was up on the site around November, when you clicked on the league pass section it took you to and intl page saying you were able to purchase it in your region. I think it was around 100-125 USD for the year.

I actually just purchased the broadband section off someone in the states for this year. They automatically get it with their NBA League Pass tv subscription so for 50 bucks they have given me their login details.

Cameron_K: First off love your teams! Good taste man.

Anyways, so you are saying in oz we can get league pass broadband? If so, have you had it before and is it any good? I really want good coverage of the nba this year seeing as though fox isn't going to deliver the goods.

I just watch them for free on websites like justintv psn 3. I just go to lakersground or dallas-mavs vbulletin and links are usually posted on there, I imagine other team forums would be similar.

Same here - not only can you get NBA but a range of sports we never get to see here like Indian table tennis and Jungle Gym Olympics. Jokes aside its great, I sit there on Saturdays during summer from 10am through to 5pm watching games and having a few punts. Some games are audio only though but I've found you get your fair share of live vision.

The last 2 years I have been able to get it and it was brilliant, especially for following a team like Houston who didn't get a lot of Nationally telecasted games. Normally the week before the season starts or just as it starts if you go to the league pass website it will direct you to an international page. There it normally gives you the option of purchasing league pass (well it has in the past)

In regards to the coverage, you can watch the games they broadcast live or for up to 48 hours afterwards. From what I hear this year they are doing the same thing as the MLB with the mosaic where you can watch a few different games at once which is great.

Obviously a fast net connection is required :thumbsu:
