This was just announced and it isnt alot different looking at the video that was provided.

the dunk contest and all other all star events is an add on you have to purchase but i believe if you pre order it you get the all star dunk contests and etc... for free.

Any body else pumped for this i am but im interested to see how they could possibly top 2k12

Meh only mode i've really played on 2k11 is My Player so who cares about the rest as long as they nail that mode well.

Well if you've seen 2k12 they upped the MyPlayer a lot in that and im sure they will find a way to make it even better for next year too.

I'm much more interested in changes to existing modes than additions which I will never use. There's certainly room for the Association mode to be deeper, and the gameplay has a few issues (not least passing).

Getting rid of their regional pricing scheme on Steam would be even more welcome...

Sweet. I have picked up the last three and will get this too.

I always work out that if I can get a game to cost about $1 for every hour that I've played then it's well worth the price.

So far each game has cost me $50

NBA2k10: 51 hours
NBA2k11: 112 Hours
NBA2k12: 77 Hours

$150 for 240 hours is a pretty bloody good ratio if you ask me :)

The biggest things needed to improve imo is the passing (it's not as big an issue for me as i've gotten pretty good at icon passing but it's still an issue for most people who just want to press the pass button and direct it) and the up and under tendencies and effectiveness of them. Also the speed issues and the shot clock cheese by the cpu. Got to find a way that they actually run good sets and find shots within the shot clock and aren't just running around until the last second (that's also tied into the shotclock cheese). I'm sure they're aware of most of this through twitter and the operation sports forums and hopefully now with EA bringing out a basketball game this year it will force them to really work on these frustrating aspects of an otherwise great game.

Lmfao at that dunk contest. Thats ****ing terrible. Will give this one a miss I think, doesnt the EA one come out this year?

Edit: Yep it does, and they have gone back to calling it Live too..

As the narrator points out, there is still no speed differential between fast and slow players.

It was/is still possible to keep the likes of Westbrook/Rose in front of you while using Shaq/Dampier types.

Also the players are still too bulky. Manu and Durant are built like supermen.

Dare i say it, might be time to move back to the NBA LIVE series. NBA2K11 was brilliant, but 2k12 was not even half as good, and 2k13 looks like it's going backwards AGAIN, fix it before release please.

Honestly playing 2k11 some more tonight reminded me of one feature they really need to fix and that's the voice in my player, there is something seriously wrong with a white Steve Nash wannabe sounding like an extra from Boys in the Hood...

Yes yes yes yes yes, a million times yes!

Live coming back can only be a good thing if only for the competition. If 2k is the only NBA game there's really no reason for them to make big improvements every year and then you get a situation like Madden where not alot changes, or at least not as much as before they got the license.
