Titans v Tigers
Wildcats v Razorbacks
Sixers v Hawks

Thankyou Canberra. :) Their unlikely win over West Sydney enabled the Sixers to sneak into 3rd spot, while the Hawks win over the Tigers produced 2 mouth watering matchups, specifically the Melbourne derby and the rematch of last years' semis, Adelaide v Wollongong.

My tips

Titans in 3 games- should be really close, and Melbourne have a great chance, but I favour the Titans to pull through :(

Perth in 2 games- Despite the hiccup against Townsville, travelling smoothly and should account for West Sydney (the only danger being an away loss in the first game where the Razorbacks have only lost 2 games I think)

Hawks in 3 games- Though the Hawks have suffered through a long losing streak (coincidentally, right after Grant Kruger said the only team that could beat the Hawks, was themselves :D ) I think their good victory over the Tigers will give them enough confidence to win game one in Woll. and from there it's going to be tough for the Sixers to win 2 at the Powerhouse. Obviously I hope things are different, and after last year when the refs helped the Hawks beat us, I reckon the boys will be eager for revenge......this time, it's PERSONAL.

With the even nature of the competition this year, I think the race for the title is wide open. Probably 5 of the 6 teams have a realistic shot at taking it out. Should be great to watch as well, both at the games and on tv...... and with the Kings' absence from the playoffs, Fox will actually be forced to show something other than Sydney games for once this year.... :D

Should be a great playoff series...Titan v Melbourne should be close given that Gaze should be back and Wollongong v Adelaide should be fantastic given what happened last year...the only rivalry not there is Perth v Adelaide which could happen in round 2..

West Sydney are dangerous so im hoping we can go over there on Wednesday and beat them by a good margin to really put a dent in there armour, from there we should get home at home. Im hoping the Titans lose to the Tigers allowing us to take home court advantage throughout the playoffs.

Oh and i too want to send my gratitude to the Cannons for beating West Sydney...we kept the all important second spot despite losing to Townsville.

You're obviously either the eternal optimist or have blanked out previous playoff horrors from your memory. ;)

I say it when it happens :)

While I would have preferred to have beaten the Tigers in the grand final series, the fact that they have had our measure this season probably means that playing them in the first round of the playoffs where we get a second chance if we lose may not be such a bad thing.

With our full squad returning for Wednesday night, along with the return of Gaze for the Tigers, it should be a magnificent series between the Titans and our bitter rivals. I'm confident we can not only prevail but take out a team that has the potential to scare every other team remaining in the playoffs.

In the other series Perth should prove too strong for West Sydney while I think Wollongong could make a lot of us very happy in getting rid of Adelaide in a tough series. :)

GO TITANS - We're due for the title this time round!

Well actually sainter, if the series pan out as you have predicted, the Sixers will still be around by virtue of being the highest ranked loser from the first round of the playoffs :D

Don't worry, it's an easy mistake to make for a Titans fan :)

I don't mind how many mistakes I've made when I'm celebrating our championship victory. :)

And I'm sure even you can acknowledge that the playoff system is a little strange. I understand the changes were made because of the perceived disadvantaged to the top two sides who got the weeks break in the first round of the playoffs but I think a better system is possible.

Gaze was only able to play 14 minutes and apparently looked like he was not ready.I fear if he comes in half fit he could do more harm than good.

I'd take a half fit Gaze than no Gaze at all

I think that we have a pretty good chance against the Titans. We are very unpredictable, but if we play like we can play we can beat anyone. We can be very good, or very bad, but if we can be very good twice we'll beat the Titans

We've beat the Titans 2 out of 3 times this year and I see no reason why we can't do that again. And after that, who knows ... :)

I'm loving your confidence sainter, for someone who has gone through so much heartbreak due to your poor playoff performing basketball team, you manage to really keep your chin up and you almost have me believing that the Titans are actually going to break through this year :)

As for the playoff system, sure, there may be a better one out there (I haven't really thought about it) but I think this one correctly advantages the best teams in the league, which can only be a good thing. However, the uncertainty of who goes through can be unsettling. I don't think you mind either way sainter, the Titans are certainties to take out the title regardless of the playoff system :)

Maybe you could ask Dan for his suggestions? Personally I don't think we're getting enough recognition for finishing on top ;)

My tips : Titans in 3, Perth in 2 and Hawks in 2.

I'm not one to make excuses for our poor record in the playoffs Ant, you know that.

(Losing Jason Smith last season was crucial)

;)
