Final 8 is basically set unless the 36ers can pull of a miracle, so might as well start posting predictions, who you think will win it, which team from the bottom 4 might just surprise everyone, or is it only out of the Kings, Tigers and Bullets.

Amazingly, the Crocs are playing the Taipans and the Blaze in the last round of the regular season. One of those teams will be the their 1st round opponent.

It's out of Sydney, Brisbane & Tigers - in that order....as much as I love the Tigers, they just can't seem to put together when they play the Kings or Bullets.

True, both teams seem to match up well on the Tigers. They can't contain Smith, CJ and Ebi.

So 4th spot is down to Breakers/Wildcats after the Crocs debacle in Cans.

Thank **** my Foxtel isn't working. Still, was probably always on the cards after the massive game last night wrapped up a home final for us. Which is more than I could've asked for at 3-7.

Edit: As it turned out, the result meant nothing in terms of where we would finish. :)

Sydney are struggling a little against South, but I'll assume they'll win. Brisbane and Melbourne are cruising home.

So the Top 3 should look like this

Sydney
27-3

Melbourne
22-8

Brisbane
20-10

Then it's down to Wildcats vs. NZ for 4th. With 4 minutes to go in the 1st, the Breakers are up by 1.

I can't see Perth not getting home with the top 4 on the line, in front of their own fans. So I'd say they will be the team that wraps up 4th.

This would leave Perth with a 18-12 record.

Townsville would have a 17-13 record and finish 5th.

Both the Breakers and Cairns would finish with a 16-14 record. But Cairns have the 2-1 split over them, so would take 6th spot, and a home final.

The Blaze would finish 8th, and travel to Townsville for their final.

So the final standings would be..... (If I've got my workings right)

Sydney
27-3

Melbourne
22-8

Brisbane
20-10

Perth
18-12

--------------

Townsville
17-13

Cairns
16-14

New Zealand
16-14

Gold Coast
15-15

---------------------------------------------------

However, if NZ do get up (currently leading by 1 with 9 mins to go, Q2) - Townsville, NZ & Perth would all finish with a 17-13 record.

Splits then go out the window in deciding 4th place. It then goes on points differential between the 3 teams in games played against each other. I think... :o

Townsville are +18, Wildcats and Breakers are both -9.

So unless the Breakers won by 28 points or more, they couldn't finish 4th.

So if the Breakers win by under 28. Then....

Townsville
17-13

New Zealand
17-13

Perth
17-13

Cairns
16-14

Gold Coast
15-15

So, New Zealand would host the Blaze, and Cairns would travel to Perth.

----

Scenario one, is the most likely by far. But, I can dream. :p

Perth won.

Useless ****ing sheep-shaggers. :p

------------------------------------

(5th) Townsville Crocodiles vs. (8th) Gold Coast Blaze

and

(6th) Cairns Taipans vs. (7th) New Zealand Breakers

-----------------------------------

(4th) Perth Wildcats vs. Townsville Crocodiles/Gold Coast Blaze

(3rd) Brisbane Bullets vs. Cairns Taipans/New Zealand Breakers

------------------------------------

Some good games there.

Anybody rate the cats? I put $100 on them to win it @ $17 before the season started.:p

Didn't actually get to watch last night, because Foxtel are ****ing useless, but to get the win was good.

But how the **** are we meant to win in Perth? The travelling is obscene.

Played a home game last Friday, travelled to Cairns to play Saturday, back to Townsville to play Wednesday. Now it's off to Perth to play Friday. That's just ridiculous.

Another game I won't get to watch. ("We can't fix it until next week", don't blame me it's not my fault") Thanks Foxtel

Still, probably a good thing, as I'm expecting to get smashed. Be in it until HT, then just run out of legs and lose by 20+.

As for tonights game, Cairns by about 10. But c'mon the sheep-shaggers :thumbsu: :)

Tigers are in big trouble. They don't match up well against Brisbane because the Bullets are a very good perimeter shooting team and the Tigers don't really like defending outside the 3, they prefer to sag off the 3 point shooters, and they can never stop CJ and Ebi, so I am going against my heart because I love the tigers and tipping the Bullets to win 2-0.

How do you guys think the Tigers v Bullets series will play out.

We thinking the Tigers will secure game 1 at home tomorrow night?

Don't be suprised if the Bullets win. I actually think they'll take out game one, but Melbourne will win the remaining 2 games.

Wow, big result for us tonight. Ebi Ere just had a shocker. The Tigers were just too big, if it weren't for CJ we would've won by 30.

The Tigers just had so many options tonight with Lampley, Corletto, Thomas, Anstey, Barlow, Hoare and McDonald all in double figures, and to keep Ebi to 5 points was a sensational effort on the defensive end.

I think most people will agree that the Tigers will take the momentum into tomorrow night and sweep the series, also coming off the long break.

Lovely work by the Cats, showed those arrogant Sydney w***ers!

Redhage, what a champ! 35pts, 11 Rbs, 7 Assists, pretty nice numbers

Cats vs Tigers or Bullets would be a great finals series, doesnt matter who wins then! ;) :thumbsu:

Sydney are arrogant because we've earnt it. Worthington will come back to bring Perth's hopes to a crashing halt.

If the Tigers are lucky, the Kings will let them admire their beautiful new championship rings from afar.

;)
