i'm going to be doing a bit of filming and editing in the next few weeks.

what i need is a compact, small camera that could possibly fit in my pocket. so i was thinking a digital camera primarily for photos but also with very good video quality. i basically need to take the camera everywhere with me, with no bags.

problem is, for some scenes i'll need to plug a microphone in (i think..) for better sound quality while recording voices.

so i was wondering if there is a camera small enough with these options that also can have a mic plugged into it?

i'll also be using green screens.

that's basically all i have to say, hope i can get a bit of advice because i'm not highly knowledgeable with this stuff :(

thanks guys

I'm no expert but I can't remember ever seeing a compact digital camera with an external mic option. I reckon the smallest you'll get are the micro 4/3 cameras (eg. Sony NEX series or Olympus E-P series) which are quite slim, but have a larger interchangeable lens.

You'll probably be able to get away with a half decent compact camera, even my old Panasonic TZ7 has a pretty solid (stereo) microphone.
