5% increase is basically below plan on projects of this size (should be within contingency).
10% on average projects ....this one, you'd expect 15%+ and more in these economic times

In Melbourne, we don't accept anything below 30% Project Blowouts

Have we eradicated any native species of birds or other animals yet?
There have reported to be various sightings of an Eagle still hovering around Thebarton over the years, although this breed officially classed as extinct 35 years ago. May it find comfort high up in the Phil Ridings Stand.

It is a massive building wrapping around the oval. Staggering when you see it in person.
When I was chatting to Olsen at the end of last season (might have been at the AFLW game at Springfield) he was pointing out how much bigger it was going to be than the Lions already impressive set up. It'll be fabulous to see it when it's all done and dusted.

Pretty much all AFL Clubs copy each other ....most have two ovals ....it's just keeping up with the Jones

Still couldn't get it all in this photo ....club cafateria for staff :whitecheck: .....cafe for public :crossmark:

That looks terrible.
It's the backend of the complex ....the frontage of the building is pretty good

I'm just saying, all Club can boast about their facilities, as there isn't that big of a difference .....moreso the differences seem to revolve around sports science advancements

Of course, they all have high altitude rooms 🤣

Big difference with the "Hanger" and ours will be that ours is in a way better area for fans, Essendon's is out in the industrial, semi-industrial Tullamarine area apart from the surfing pool in the area not much else for people to see out that way

Is anyone able to give us country people a recent pic and update on the site please?

Drove past on Saturday and the sheer size of the building is huge. It's double the size of West Lakes, stretching nearly the entire eastern wing.

The South Road works are also starting. Community centre has been demolished and the West Thebby across the road also gone.

No pics as it's hard to do it justice driving past in a car, but it looks well on the way.

Plus the government has decided to upgrade every single intersection for some unknown reason
Most of the 1's in the western suburbs will be finished soon and will make a massive difference to traffic flows in places that probably should've been addressed a decade ago

The Marion Rd and Morphett Rd tram crossings close to Anzac Hwy are already an improvement and they haven't finished them yet (still speed restrictions and occasional lane closures)

Marion Rd and Sir Donald Bradman Drive has been a massive improvement in traffic flow.

The Holbrooks Rd, Grange Rd and East Ave modification will transform peak hour traffic through that bottleneck as well.

Might see more folk avoiding South Rd over next few years once they're completed and that may have been part of the rationale to get them out of the way now. The 2 tram crossing upgrades did make sense though while the line was closed due to the massive changes being made at the South Rd crossing.
