I'd like to know about the umpiring, and if theyre going to be biased towards home crowds and what not.

Or will there be individual player sliders, so Joel Selwood will finally get all the free kicks he earns.

Ha only one person gets more frees than joel and thats his brother adam! plus lifting your arms when being tackled so the tackler's hands end up above the shoulders isn't exactly "earning" free kicks, just smart play

Then why do people whinge about him getting frees that are obviously there?

Also, he still goes in damn hard and keeps his head down.

Firstly, can't wait for this game!

One question I have, are the crowds going to reflect the teams that are playing?

hi ross anychance you can put in the traditional freo jumpers in the game and have a selection like in afl 07 that would be awesome

Definitely. Not just the colours they're wearing either, let's be realistic.

No fans at North Melbourne games (or just have a huddle of like 5 north jumpers amidst the other team supporters) and bay covers for Port.

I think that people are asking about quite trivial looking things (soundtracks, team-specific crowds). How about these questions:

1) What is the goalkicking mechanic? Is it the same for set shots and on the run shots?
2) How far around the ground will players roam? Football has changed a lot these days. You could see forward pockets like Steven Milne getting cheap kicks in defence. Will the game replicate this?
3) Will the computer play on a lot from kicks and link up with handballs?
4) Will there be an automatic player rotation system with the bench? Rotations are too frequent these days that they can't be done manually. In past games the computer hasn't use the bench except for injuries. Hopefully that isn't the case anymore

Hopefully you can answer some or all of those questions, as I feel they are rather important.

We're just having fun with it now mate, we've realised most of the info we really want can only be relayed to us by actually playing the game.

But good questions to ask. :thumbsu:

I hope they've implemented a system for set-shots which is similar to the penalties mechanics in FIFA 11, that involves some form of a composure meter.

Set shots will be similar to RLL it's been explained before

and for geelong can we have fans holding banners saying either:

1) we need you back gary

2) we brought our handbags

And North can have banners saying "Please give us more money so we can live." While whoring themselves out somewhere else, Ballarat? They take up 'second homes' so often I lose track of where they are.

AFL Live 2011 Music:

Joker & The Thief-Wolfmother
Welcome To the Jungle-Guns N Roses (This should play during the finals series)
Clubfoot-Kasabian
Fire-Kasabian
Vertigo-U2
Let Me Hear You Scream- Ozzy Osbourne

Just a few songs I reckon BigAnt should throw in!

Quick question for Ross: will there be arena music manager (like in NBA 2K11) I am pretty much certain that there wont be, but this year most sports games have it Madden NFL 11, NBA 2K11. Also User playlists should be incorporated into the AFL Games. Anyway can't wait to see the screenshots, you guys are doing a great job, hated the games delay at first but now am looking forward to AFL Live 2011 even more.

Nah, doesn't really fit the AFL.
They should just go with some awesome original music that goes with the tension of before a Grand Final, or just a game in general.

I hope kicking isnt controlled by a button.
It should be controlled by right analog stick that way u can choose short or long an it works in conjunction of what way your running.
so if your running straight ahead an push up on right stick its a straight kick, diagonally up an left the kick goes that way.
An if u move it left its a snap kick.
a shoulder button can be used as a modifier eg hold button down an instead of a kick its a handball.
An ofcourse if u dont press it straight up the kick wont go straight it will go in the direction u pushed it so its possible to get the right angles when kicking for goal on the run.

Hard to implement an will be harder to pick up an play.

but will give much more control an will be better than just press button 1 for snap, button 2 for torp, button 3 for long kick
