Interesting innovation.

The football looks radioactive, though...

yes what is wrong with that ball? green screen?

but I quite enjoyed this video

Yeah, the green screen of the studio is obviously reflecting in the shine of the football leather.

Either that, or the Sherrin contains a chunk of Kryptonite inside it...

Just watched it now and I noticed the small stuff ups that occurred on the show but overall it was good viewing and I'll certainly tune in every week to see what's happening when it comes to team selection.

I really enjoyed hearing Scotty Burns' thoughts on Jack Crisp and what he'll add to the side heading into the future.

The Scott Burns part was relatively speaking the highlight given he was there giving insight and educating the viewer.

For the "team sheets" feature I personally really liked the way Mark Thompson did it in 2-3 minutes weekly on the Essendon website if anyone watched that last year. Thompson last year weekly went through the lineups but also gave some explanations and made some comments, and it's that touch of expert knowledge that for me was lacking. Half of the time he was eating lunch or about to eat lunch and just the style of it appealed to me anyway. Not that there is another Mark Thompson, but even as a non Essendon fan it was weekly must watch viewing.

In the future for this program on our website I'd like to see some insight into why various guys are not in the lineup, what they need to do to get in there, then those who would normally be regulars and on short term injuries/just off the injury list there could also be some info included regarding where they are at - is the plan give them 2 weeks in the VFL to work up their fitness being graduating to AFL play or whatever the case may be.

I hope that isn't going to be the production standard as normal. The hosts are both boring as bat shit and have no enthusiasm whatsoever. CTV your preseason doco was on point. So please lift your game and make this a more watchable segment for all the supporters.

Apart from the hosts being more enthusiastic, how do you think they could improve it?

I'd really like to see an episode about the actual "selection committee".

The term "selection committee" is to freely tossed around by the club, but the fans have no insight into what it actually is.

Who is on selection committee?

Have someone from selection committee describe the process in broad terms ...

"Selection committee typically meets at 2pm on Thursdays" or whatever

"We start by Balmy reporting on who is available for selection" or whatever

"We have Joulsey give a rundown about the opposition" or whatever

"We discuss matchups, player form, player fitness" or whatever

"We shuffle the names that are printed on magnets on a whiteboard" or whatever

"Bucks takes a photo of the whiteboard and emails it to Perty" or whatever

"Perty's assistant types it out into Excel, photocopies it, and posts it up in the player's lockerroom, and emails the spreadsheet to the AFL by the deadline of 5pm" or whatever.

"Bucks rings any players who are about to debut for the club" or whatever

"Bucks rings players who have missed out and has a chat with them about it" or whatever

"After AFL team selection we go straight into doing VFL team selection" or whatever

etc, etc ...

I think they can actually have some chemistry with one another. Maybe go for a coffee or lunch before hand as they give off a vibe that they've just been thrown together. In regards to the show I'd like to see a feature each week that perhaps goes into recruiting of players or how the team is picked each week etc. I also don't believe it should just be called team selection. It narrows it down to just a show about reading the teams which everyone by the time they air the show has already heard on the radio.

So should be fun to see what they come up with. Hope it's on the up and up

With the Scotty Burns analysis part, I'd rather see the things players do off the ball which contribute to their selection. Bucks said games are decided by the things we don't see. Rather than stock standard highlights I think they should focus on top defensive efforts, or a 100m lead up the ground. That being said I'm very pleased with what the media department is putting forward thisyear.

Needs more analysis and less reading out of the names of the 22 on paper. We already know WHO is playing, we want to know WHY. The Scotty Burns analysis bit on Crisp was great, as were the short interviews.

Hosts were nervous and lacked charisma

I reckon the show (going into round 3) is definitely getting better.

Kudos for a bunch of things on Team Sheets this week ...

- Great to see the club mixing things up and showing us different people who are behind the scenes.

- Great to see the club supporting some of the more unfashionable players by showcasing the things they do well. If there's a large portion of BigFooty posters who are scratching their heads trying to understand why Blair and Frost get selected every week - that's a pretty good indication that there is a similarly large portion of Collingwood supporters at the ground and watching on TV wondering the same thing! I've always wondered why the club doesn't do more to support those players? Anyway, the club's media dept are now doing it, and it's great to see!

- Great to see some examples of crumbing highlighted, and that it had been identified as an area of improvement needed.
