With the "Gillette Trade Period, brought to you by Gillette" dragging out in to its third month I thought I would try and change the subject a bit.

With some players either being moved on or delisted just interested to see what players you would like to upgrade their numbers and what the new draftees/free agents should get. Personally I would like to see Crozier get the number 4, Gumbleton (if we get him) to get number 17, Sylvia to get number 20.

Lee Spurr to number 4 for me. Then we've got a nice Defenders Line-up in 3/4/5.

All right, I admit: I'm always fascinated, no matter what the sport, by what number a new player on my team chooses. What about this: Sylvia takes No. 20; Gumby -- if he comes -- taking No. 4 (one higher than the 3 he has worn with Essendon and representing the "one better" he'd become, being in purple)?

AFL clubs are too conservative with their numbering. Sylvia - give him 0. Allow Sandilands to have 211. His jumper is big enough.Or if Gumby wants to keep 3, hell give him 3a.
Why stop there? Why not just give every player whatever number they want, regardless of whether someone else also wants it. We'd have a bunch of 4's, 18's, 23's etc i'm guessing. :p

The immature ones would choose 69 :p

Edit: although it says a lot about me when I was the one thinking it.

Also I think that was my 3000th post. Lordy.

I was going to observe that it might be time for you to consider getting some balance into your life;), then I saw Nickos66 above you has posted >10,000 times! And then I reflected on what I am doing right now ... so carry on.

I'm a uni student, procrastination is my life right now!

I love Nickos, it's so good to have another 2010 draftee with that many posts to make me feel less pathetic :thumbsu:

You guys have got a long way to go in the pathetic stakes yet.

At least there's that nutter from North with his 600 aliases averaging 200 posts a day to make me feel better about myself.

Buddy's new jumper number:
10,200,000

For the lady fans, maybe some of the (single) players could use their mobile numbers

It would solve a lot of "homesick" players from going home by increasing their likelihood of bagging a local girl ;) I could've helped Michie stay!

The lads in Christchurch NZ get huge stickers made up of their phone numbers to put across the back windscreen of their hotted up beasts, so when they're cruising the streets random girls can ring them for a ride.

I imagine it attracts nothing but the classiest ladies. Must make it pretty easy for the cops to track them too.
