There’s no knock on NB, we just have a historical link to puma.I don't get the knock on New Balance. It's 2025, and New Balance is a lot more trendier than puma, and their quality is usually better as well.
Fair, it is interesting to see New Balance trying to gain a large foothold in the Australian sporting landscape. They have the largest amount of any AFL clubs in terms of being a supplier, they sponsor cricket and even state leagues and they're even the new Big Bash sponsor, replacing Nike. They really are going in hard for the Australian market. There’s no knock on NB, we just have a historical link to puma.
I like the NB stuff. I have a guernsey and a jacket.

I’d be more than happy to see WC stay with NB, I’m just suss there was a huge team store clear out and no further information anywhere.Having had the opportunity to work directly with them - it’s hardly a surprise the market share they have.
They do what they do well, they have a great team, they’re local and then attached to a big name brand. Have hardly put a foot wrong with anything they’ve worked on either.
I get the romance of wanting to see West Coast back with Puma - but end of the day it’s just a logo under the collar that would probably end up as sold off asset anyway.![]()
I get that, NB has been very good.Having had the opportunity to work directly with them - it’s hardly a surprise the market share they have.

Amongst teens, they're almost at Nike's level as well. In fact, you'll see more teens wearing NB shoes than Nike's these days. That's how popular they have become. Puma on the otherhand are heading in the other direction considering they're unable to make any of their trends stick these days. Adidas has their sambas, Nike has jordans, NB has their shoes, while Puma is just there. From what I hear in the industry, globally they're 3rd behind Nike and Adidas now.
Been a sharp and well deserved rise.
Come a long way from being the brand most people would only recognise for making your Dad's BBQing shoes.

Puma are also pretty bad at selecting ambassadors.
They’ve gone after Kylie Jenner and Dua Lipa. They’re both massively recognisable, appeal to men and women, and have an association with clothes and their appearances.
The issue is nobody associates them with sneakers or trackie tops - they can sell makeup and seltzers but their associations are all wrong for a Puma. It feels inauthentic.
Adidas always goes through waves of mainstream popularity but you can also trust their collabs. Oasis always wore the stuff they’re now promoting.

If Freo's Sekem merch is anything to go by, I'm not overly optimistic for my club either.Cats Cotton on merch looks horrible and cheap, just my opinion.
Not gonna lie, the Crows have definitely scored a solid A with O'Neills.Maybe each club should go with O’Neills their stuff is pretty decent quality
They're starting to aggressively try and jump into local sporting clubs now too.Not gonna lie, the Crows have definitely scored a solid A with O'Neills.
They make super solid stuff for Penrith in the NRL too.Not gonna lie, the Crows have definitely scored a solid A with O'Neills.
I’m familiar with them through England’s lower leagues. Can’t speak for build quality but the designs and colouring is tip top. Rate the Crows stuffNot gonna lie, the Crows have definitely scored a solid A with O'Neills.
