That doesn't look like a complete new logo to me, just an updated monogram (and inferior to the existing one in my opinion). Maybe it might be part of an alternative logo to the main one, I guess we'll find out. I like the current logo, could do to be simplified a bit perhaps.

I don't understand what the problem is with that logo we have now. It's awesome. I love it. Who cares who was at the helm when it was created. It's OUR logo. Not theirs.

Never liked it, it's too busy. Rather than going for a simple, punchy, brand, it tries to fit 150 years of history into a shield.
