After the first two rounds what does everyone think of the players that WC have recruited?

Trent Carroll: Not that impressed so far but some WC players have huge raps for this guy. Maybe he's just had a bad start and not playing in his suited position. May come good yet...

Michael Collica: Playing quite well so far in defence. Very atheletic and a good rebounding player. Good pickup for our defence I reckon.

Greg Harding: Haven't seen enough of this guy as he's been injured so far. From the little I did see however I wasn't that impressed. May be just due to lack of match fitness. Hopefully he steps up and give our defence a hand...

Mark Merenda: Looked good in patches so far. As the season goes on he should become more consistent and return to quite a good player. Haven't seen any injury problems so far. Looks to be a good pickup

Michael Prior: Allright, nothing really really special but is serviceable. Might not be playing in best position but hopefully he gets to the form which made him a reserve for the bombers GF outfit.

David Sierrakowski: No one really knows as he was injured after about 5 mins into first game. Could be good on the half forward line and hopefully solves some of our HF problems. Serviceable player, nothing else.

Richard Taylor: Been playing quite well so far. Why did Hawthorn trade him? Good three goals last game and I think will be our best short term pickup with his mate Collica the best long term pickup.

Were those fairly accurate. I tried to be fair in my judgement but thats what I honestly think of all our new recruits. Looks like they are gradually blending into KJ's game plan.

I concur with your comments on Taylor. He has a great work ethic.

Collica was in everything yesterday. In the middle, up forward and down back. A truly good day out. Missed a critcical goal from dead in front. If he had kicked that the result could have been different.

Merenda did not look fit but kicked a crucial goal.

Prior has been steady. A great pickup. Will never be flashy. Good disposal.

As for Trent Carroll I just dont know. He is not a forward. May slip in at Centre half back. But he is too short for CHF and lacks mobility. This may be his downful against more mobile forwards of similar size. I was on the plane the day his parents travelled to Melbourne to see his first Dockers game against Carlton. They were so proud. As parents would be. So for that fact I genuinely hope he builds a worthwhile career. I know we all hope he does.

Too early to criticise too much. Taylor, Prior, Sierra and Collica look very good. Harding and Merenda are not fit enough to judge. Carrol will be okay in back pocket or half forward flank but is not a centre line position player.

i didn't see the Geelong game, but from the Sydney game Michael Collica and Richard Taylor both played very well, especially Collica.

Collica seemed, to me, to run with the ball well. But, unlike most of the team, he didn't run with the ball to far.

He could get into space quickly and kick it. Unlike most of the side, they would get into space and keep running, and eventually get run down.

Collica - i think this guy is the best pick up of the lot. Hes mobile has good disposal and always makes a contest. Was in everything on sunday.

Taylor - also another good pickup, can kick goals and in both games so far this year has had his fair share of the ball. His kicking needs a bit of work though, he could hold on to it a little longer and look for a target rather than blazing away.

Harding - never been that impressed with him at Freo but ill wait until he is fit.

Seira - Im sure he will be great once he comes back. Can play CHF and kick goals, can also ruck.

Merenda - kicked a goal in each game and i think thats why we are paying him, he's still a little underdone. Also he is under a lot of pressure to come straight in and kick goals, especially without Cummings and Ph Matera in the forward line. He looks like he is trying to hard because he is playing for his spot in the side. Once Cummings and Matera come back i think he will really start playing well.

Prior - havent seen much wrong with him so far, he has big shoes to fill in Bluey but his disposal is second to none and he looks to have settled nicely in the west.

Carrol - has not impressed! Dont hate the guy or anything but he just makes too many mistakes, maybe its nerves with the new enviroment and probably playing to stay in the side but he better get moving or i see him languishing back in the WAFL.

Love to see a hawk reply, they've been bagging collica all off season. Hopefully he can keep going with this form!

Here's your Hawk reply guys.

Collica's disposal can let him down, although he's fairly hard at it. A couple of games in 99, he saved our arse, but once Judgey was out the door, his form slumped and he just didn't want to be at Glenferrie. Look, I think you'll find most Hawk fans liked what they saw of Mickey, but were disappointed by his approach last year. I think he'll be a great pick-up for you guys.

Taylor is slow. End of story. He's great around the club, but he's not the in and under player Hawthorn wanted him to be. His skills are a bit suspect too. Having said that, you could have done worse.

We wish both players all the best.

But as for Judgey...
