Are far as im aware i think the rules heave been changed to allow two mature aged rookies and rookies can be kept on the list for 3 years.

Does this mean that Moles will stay a rookie, and they will possibly rookie another mature aged recruit ie. Podsiadly? Could be a good move maybe? Thoughts ppl?

Not sure I get all the talk of Brodie Moles making a senior list (which is only reason to keep him a rookie).

He is almost 24 now if he doesn't get elevated this year he should be delisted. Would it be worth keeping him as a rookie for another year then elevating him when at the start of 2011 season he would be 25?
I dont think he has too much improvement, at his age, left so at best he is only ever going to be a good vfl and fringe afl player.

Can't see why Moles was not deliseted with the other delistings unless he was being considered for promotion or being retained as a third year rookie.

I think I read that clubs are allowed 2 extra rookies (as part of the new changes). If this is the case then even if Moles is retained as a third year rookie we will have 5 new Rookie picks. The extra picks probably increases the chances of S Simpson or McKenna being redrafed by the club as Rookies.

I disagree.

I watched him in several VFL matches this year and while he isn't always consistent across 120 minutes, when he's good he's very good. I also believe in awarding merit, so you can't delist McKenna based on his VFL season and then delist Moles after his much better VFL season.

The other issue is list management. If Moles was a small forward I might (read might, not would) delist him, but it's not like we have stacks of spare midfielders on the list. He's worth giving another year, at which point of time he might get elevated if he's showing improvement.

I think we'd be looking at a big increase of mature VFL/other comp players over the next few years regardless of these rule changes. The success of such players as Egan, Taylor, Scott Thompson, Mumford etc as well as the drying up up young talent thanks to GC and WSYD will see to that
