A huge shoutout to Gil and what's his name.

Thankyou for bringing in 8 new rules. Our game certainly need the lift out of mediocrity.

I mean how boring was the comp this year and more importantly how boring was the GF.

Seriously now...I do like the 50m interpretation. And i think the Ruck rule will make the game better.

Now can we have another set of new rules next year and the year after and the ....

Like
50m rule is good
Runners rule is overdue
Hands in the back is good but is fixing a rule that never needed to be in place.

Ehh
Marks and free kicks close to goal
Being able to snap after siren

Don't like
Starting positions. I like the strategy of being able to have an extra man back. The two wingers can just stand on the corner on the centre square and sprint back anyway.
I don't see the kick in rule having the impact Steve is losing his shit over. I haven't seen it in play so maybe I'm wrong. Wait and see.
Taking out of ruck - Worst one

None really offended me, quite like the hands in the back rule gone, and the marking or free kick for defender back to 10 m square is fair, sometimes a poor bastard taking a mark on the goal had no run up trying to kick over a bloke standing there and the had only one direction to go

Think the better intercept defenders will stand out even more with the 6/6/6 centre bounce rule. As much as it's joked about, gov usually does play on a man, and we seemed to not have an extra behind the ball as much this year as in 2017, so should be well prepped.

It's getting to the point where it's not too outlandish to say that the 'interceptor' is just about the most important role in the team, certainly for us at least

Having 12 players in the 50 meter arc will actually clutter the forward line not free it up..

I'm dead against it...

The goal square will be a bit redundant if you can run out of it without kicking it to yourself, I suppose it gives you a few seconds if you are looking for a kick but I think players will be out of there pretty quick.

RIP Spitter role

We used that tactic quite effectively during the finals (Cripps/LeCras normally), so a pretty big loss imo.
Could still work. Cripps off the back of the square, Sheppard/Cole starting on a wing rotate to “Cripps’ man” and whoever is half forward come down to the wing. Seem to recall Cripps/Lecras always having an opponent anyway so could just start them as a half back.
