Here are our draftees http://saints.com.au/default.asp?pg=news&spg=display&articleid=307755

Some of them look alright, I think Armitage is exactly what we need, Howard is allright apparently, I've never heard of Allen but I'm pissed that we redrafted Ferguson, personally I think the guy is a hack, I would have been much happier with Scwarze he was finally starting to press for a spot on in the top 22 aswell.

i am not pissed abut ferguson being redraftede yet i do beleive skipworth or schwarze should have been ahead of him. armitage looks exactly what we ned. allen looks good, and hopefully howard turns out better than the likes of collard that were taken just after him

Time will ultimately show that this has been a great draft for us.
The players we have picked up are first rate.

I was disappointed that we cannot draft to fill all 44 list spots.

We will draft at least 4 rookies and will probably take a pre-season draftee, but there was an opportunity in this "superdraft" to possibly take one or two more players. But it appears that we can not avail ourselves of this pick due to salary cap pressures.

P.S. I'm rapt that they redrafted Fergs. He'll prove his quality.

Phhhfft, Shwarze ahead of Ferguson??? Shwarze has only had nearly a decade to prove his worth and Fergs has been there half the time.

Redrafting Ferguson is great news!

Hopefully Ferguson goes really hard and justifies the redrafting.

I wasn't a big Shwarze fan, but I never boo'd him either. I also really liked that he always tried, just his decison making under pressure let him down. And he also gave us "THAT GOAL!" which will live with me forever!

I wish him all the best.

i like schwarta.....and was disappointed when he got delisted
all he needed was to improve on his decision making and then would have been able to hold his own.
who could forget that goal??

Sainter - Your finially starting to see the light! Great to hear!

I look forward to the next time I can disagree with you which in your case shouldn't be too long. ;)

LOL....Havnt you realised by now that disagreeing with me is the same as being wrong????

Fellers, Lets not talk up Troy that much....its a bit like the GT sacking....everyone got stuck into him while they were with us....then change tunes when they're gone. (inc the media)

Zero Footballing ability - 100% athlete and it showed. His decision making was woeful and defensive skill were useless.

All in all he had his time, and probably alot more than warrented.

To close, I look forward to our Premiership next year, you all know its going to happen,

Cheers,

ST KILDA recruit Brad Howard spent most of his teenage years in Toowoomba, but has retained an affinity for the Saints.
His father Peter came from St Kilda's allocated country zone of Ballarat and played one game with the club's under-19s.
Howard, 19 on December 21, and fellow draftees David Armitage and Jarryd Allen had their first taste of training at Moorabbin yesterday.
For Howard, two years into a commerce degree, a first priority will be to put some bulk on his 181cm and 72kg frame.
Coached by former Saint Gary Odgers at Redlands, where he played seven senior games this season, Howard was taken at No. 27 in the national draft because recruiting manager John Beveridge felt he wouldn't last until St Kilda's next pick at 59.
Beveridge said Howard was outstanding in pre-draft testing.
"He did a 15.1 beep test and he's run 2.92 seconds for 20m and he had the best standing vertical leap of anyone tested this year," Beveridge said.
"He's lightly built, but he's cat-like and got midfield endurance."
Howard played for Queensland under-18s in 2005, but did not nominate for that year's draft because he didn't think he was ready.
Armitage, St Kilda's prime recruit, taken at No. 9, is another Queenslander, whom Beveridge expects to play senior football next season.
"He's an inside-midfielder who likes the physical side of the game and who made All-Australian this year," he said.
"He's a strongly built left-footer, who's got a fair bit of self-belief, and while it's not for the recruiting bloke to say whether he'll play senior footy next year, I think there's a fair chance he will."
Another All-Australian taken at No.59 was Calder Cannons key position player Allen.
"He reads the game really well in the air and is a very good overhead mark," Beveridge said.
"He kicked 46 goals for Calder this year, basically at centre half-forward and although he hasn't played a lot in defence gives the impression he can.
"He reminds me of Luke Penny, who at that age played mostly as a forward and ended up playing very well at full back.
"He's very competitive and his ground play is very good for a big guy.
"I think we were a bit surprised that he lasted until 59."
