Already for next year our sponsorship budget for FY 08/09 is about 30% up on last year (approx $1m) and will smash our all time sponsorship record. On top of this we’re about to sign 2-3 brand new sponsors which is really exciting so I’m very pleased that we’re about to enter a new era of stability, professionalism and deliver strong financial results for the Club.

Noticed that in addition to Betezy, we have a new sponsor called "Ted Baker".

My immediate reaction was that Bakerdog's dad has had a win on the races and plonked some on the Saints, but alas no - they are the corporate wear provider to the Saints (British fashion label).

St.George Bank and the St Kilda Football Club today announced an exciting new three year partnership that will run through until the end of the 2011 season.

The three key pillars to the sponsorship include the match ball for home games in 2009 moving to shorts sponsor for 2010-2011, involvement in St Kilda’s community programs and significant branding presence across multiple St Kilda properties.

St.George General Manager Victoria, Peter Lock said, “Our sponsorship of the Saints highlights St.George Bank’s emergence as a key financial player in the Victorian market and demonstrates our continued commitment to investment within
Victoria.

“Both the Bank and the St Kilda Football Club have a shared interest in developing community programs, particularly around Port Philip Bay, and we will work together to continue expanding these great initiatives. St.George Bank’s origins as a Building Society means the community is an integral part of our heritage and St Kilda’s strong community focus is one reason why this partnership is so strategically appealing.”

Chief Executive Officer of the St Kilda Football Club, Michael Nettlefold said, “We are absolutely delighted to add St.George Bank to our growing list of premium corporate partners and look forward to working closely with them over the next three years.”

Saints sponsoring The Saints = a great corporate slogan + win-win for both sides :thumbsu:

Terrific news. A small bank on our side can't be at all bad.

It's amazing what winning some games in good style (and not crap low scoring mode) does for getting sponsors on board.
