there is a new sprt maybe entering the olympics in 2008
its called
touch surfing.
the rules:
normal surfing but you have to touch the other person
this gives you one point.
its head to head.
first to five touches.

anyone else heard of this weird sport that may ebeter the olympics

i acually play touch surfing im currently trying out for the Australian team for the touch surfing World Champions in brazil .At the moment South Africa Dominate the sport but we are training very hard and maybe we can come home with the gold if you are a compitant surfer and are interested in starting touch sufing reply to this thread

I highly doubt that will be the new sport in the 2008 Olympics. It does sound interesting, but the frontrunners to take over baseball and softball have been listed in the media and that wasn't one of them. I remember that Rugby 7's was a decent chance...roller sports was a long shot. Eh, I can't really remember what else was been tossed around.

Was this invented so guys who surf but cant do tricks can still compete at a high level, sounds like a load of crap.

Cricket has more chance of being an olympic sport, atleast its been played at the commonwealth games.
