It's out of place now, but the plan is to have that design replace the oreilly and brewongle stands, so it will be a uniform design except for the members pavilions.

I'd kinda prefer it to not be uniform, I like the haphazardness of the stands. I personally don't like the MCG as a ground, lacks the intimacy of SCG

Been to the Adelaide oval a couple of times for the Ashes & Big Bash since the southern stand development was finished. Pretty impressed with it and am really looking forward to seeing the new SCG stands and comparing the two.

As a footy ground I don't think Adelaide Oval will be too bad at all. It has that similar 'cricket' feel that the SCG has with a bit of history here & there thrown in. Be interesting to see how similar the 2 will be regarding the newer developments. It's almost like they are becoming 'stadiums' as opposed to 'grounds' but progress is progress I suppose. Bit sad to see some of the old go but keeping them relevent and modern without losing that old world/historical charm will mean they have an advantage over something like Etihad or ANZ which seem a bit lifeless in comparison IMO. I'm not overly keen on the idea of upgrades diminishing what you are there to do (i.e. watch a footy/cricket match) so by having things like the biggest scoreboard/screen or seats so far away you don't have a choice but to watch the massive scoreboard/screen... You might as well be home watching it on the telly. If I'm there live I want to be able to watch the players live not on a screen. I want to feel part of it and if it means we don't upgrade the sh*t out of our stadiums then that's fine by me. Clean, neat, easy to get around and with good views of the ground/pitch are what's important. Not nessecarily seating capacity or being blinded by a scoreboard that uses more energy to run than some towns.

In any event, the new stands are yet another reason for us all to head on out and support the boys every so often this season anyway I reckon.

How long are we contracted to ANZ? I hear they are putting in a retractable roof and movable stands next year.

Would be nice if they could move the seating to a section where everyone sees everything. Getting sick of paying for membership but not being able to see the whole ground.

Just wondering what people thought of the new Bradman and Noble Stands on game day?

Did anyone have problems with rain blowing in from the rear, on the top deck?

Wouldn't let people out of the ground from that end which is horseshit

Came in from every direction. I'm sure it will be nice for cricket on a balmy summer afternoon but as per usual, SCG has given no consideration for AFL supporters. Far too open and the slightest amount of rain with the slightest breeze will ensure everyone on level 4 gets wet.

It's a ****ing disgrace.

I pay premium membership and have been shoved into level 4 on a unfinished stand with no facilities now and looks to have little when it will be finished.

Yeesh. I looked at those seats myself...but then I realised the front row was about as high as the roof of the of the O'Reilly stand! Glad I reconsidered.

My story is I ended up getting front row seats in the new stand on the concourse. But on the Monday before the game the club realised that the stand had been built with the seats too low, meaning that the two front rows became 'sight restricted' because of the LED advertising on the fence. The club had to relocate us with half a week's notice several rows back and now will be unable to sell those rows for the rest of the year.

Farking hopeless.

It was a one off because of the soccer. The gates were shut up that end to keep the soccer peeps at bay until 4pm, so obviously if the gates are shut to get in, you couldn't leave either. There should be no problems for the rest of the year...

They re-routed us around the SFS, I walked the whole way around and could have walked into the ground and taken a seat.

That gap in the upper deck on Level 4 must draw in the wind?

It seemed to be drawn quite strongly into the Trumper Stand from the rear on Saturday, almost like suction. I noticed it when going to buy drinks on the upper level.
