MELBOURNE DEMONS!!!
well, now that woewodin is gone, we have no vice captain. atm, white and leoncelli are our deputies so either one of them could just be put up to vice... other than that, who else have we got to fill the spot??
adem yze was the first i thought of... he's been doing really well with the club, he's young so could some day be capt. but to be honest, i cant see him as a vice capt...
anyone else got any ideas??

thanx for the idea adam!! :)

Yeah good topic.

Yze or Brucey would be the ones I'd like to see rewarded for good perfomances this season.

Whiteman is obviously still in the mix.

yeah, yze was my first thought too...

but walsh?? i dont know how good hed be for the job... i mean, he hasnt had the best season and he seems to be a little quiet at times... but i guess it good be a time for him to come out of his shell?

Can I ask....why does everyone think Yze would make a good VC? Yes, he is probably our best player, but that doesn't mean he should get a leadership role like that. I don't see him encouraging, directing play and being a real leader.

Someone like Cameron Bruce or Nathan Brown are ones that are future leaders IMO - but I'm curious to know why everyone thinks Yze would be good...

because he stands up when its needed for one, and another... give me time!! :)

i guess hes the only one thats kept going well regardless of whats going on around him and he could be able to hold any pressures that'd come with it.

i dont think brown would be too good for the job, but brucey could be??

I don't think Yze is a natural leader, by watching him on the field. Players like Chell, Brown and Bruce are, and would be better suited to the position.

i do agree... but i think chells a little passed it...

Yup, well said. I think Chell will probably stay as DVC, with a Bruce or Brown getting the role alongside him. I believe White has already been promoted to VC, but I can't confirm that yet.

how about brad green for a smokey.......he reminds me a bit of gary lyon.

LOL how so?
Reminds me more of a famous soccer player from a couple of years ago.. can't remember his name though... :(

Don't think he's vice captain material just yet. Bruce looks the go. Or even Johnstone.

similar build (of a young Gary), height,balance........sure, not qualities of a leader, just an observation.

Garry Lyon is almost 10cms taller than Brad Green so their height and build are very different.

Green is far too inconsistent to be a leader. You may argue that, but it's a fact.

Throw Brucey in there now, he will be superb in that leadership team!

Like i said, only a smokey:( what about D. Ward.:D

Don't take it to heart, it's good to think about. Not too sure about Daniel Ward, as he doesn't really have leadership qualities. I could be wrong, but I'm not too keen on Ward. This is how it will probably line up next year.

Captain - David Neitz
Vice Captain - Jeff White
Deputy Vice Captains - Andrew Leoncelli, Cameron Bruce.

Feel free to dispute this at will though.

What about Nicholson? He's the quiet leader of your back half, inspring with deeds rather than words.

yeah, i could see that... but you reckon they'll put him there while he's out with his knee??
