Bwa ha ha that Mr $300 per 6 minute block cannot detect irony and pathos. I despise Bolta and rednecks like him and I lump you in with him as the shoe scrape of society.

And I have no issue with how much money you have, my business partner is a member of one of Australia's richest families and is close to my best friend and it has nothing to do with his bank balance. No my issue is not with how much you make but the fact you find it necessary to publish it, as if it holds some form of authority or value. And from the moment you typed I have either called you a liar, for I dont believe a word of it or a blo hard that has altogether NFI of much of anything as a consequence but pretends superiority because of it. Thats all. Carry on.

You mean he has one? I stated that I thought the AFL were compromised as were his club, with the following from post 74:

Zee, call me a cynic but unfortunately I dont think he is. If he was going to be gone he would have been long ago but everyone seems to scared to act or worse to invested to act.

I dont think any action is being taken for him because the AFL does not really want him gone, on the contrary it has value invested in him.

The first thing a government says when it wants to hide something is that it intends to be open and transparent, and then it systematically buries whatever was the original information with obfuscation.

The AFL has had ample opportunity to invoke its code of conduct rules and has failed to act. It must surely be time to ask why when clearly the majority feel he has had ample opportunity to stop trashing the club or the code and setting altogether the wrong example for the more impressionable among us.

And of course we as a society have immense and often unfathomable problems with alcohol abuse and instead of removing from public office, and that is essentially what being an AFL footballer is, public office assigned by football ability, and with that office comes privilege not bestowed on the rest of the bill paying proletariat. No on the contrary, they are rewarded with ever bigger contracts, tv deals, book deals etc. And all the while the pusher, the Brewers and Distillers are major sponsors. Please, dont get me started on the utter utter hypocracy this represents.

But I thought all of the above was implicit in my highlighted passage. Silly me.

Ok so in your view because AFL players are in the public eye, they should be held to a higher standard than your average citizen. As I said I can understand that point of view, but I think its proponents (including yourself) fail to think through the consequences - once you attach different legal rights to different classes of society, you move away from an egalatarian society and open up the possibility of various sections being disenfranchised.

We should all be equal before the law - I wouldn't have thought in this day and age that would be contentious.

As for the things Fev has done, without specific obligations in his employment contract, I can't think of many other professions where someone can be sacked for behaviour done outside the office, that does not result in legal action.

But hey, stuff the law, stuff procedural fairness, 30yr's view of the world must prevail or the decision maker is wrong!

And you call me arrogant....

A bit like you really :)

All I'm saying is that J25 took exception to this comment:

At last count Fev allegedly assaulted 2 in the last 15 months, insufficient evidence to charge him on any though, time we changed the definition of evidence, I reckon. And thats just the ones we know about.

Nothing you've posted since then has justified that comment (or even attempted to really). As a society, we have laws and those laws have rules of evidence. If we changed the rules of evidence every time we don't get the outcome we want, we might as well not have the laws in the first place and just prosecute people based solely on our opinion of them.

So, when you had a slightly outlandish statement pointed out to you, rather than just saying "yep, that was going a bit far, I'll retract that particular comment but stand by everything else I've written on the subject", you instead chose to attack the person who pointed it out to you.

J25 may be everything that you and Thy say he is, but that doesn't change the fact that he made a valid point and has been attacked for it (by you) and then goaded into escalating his responses (by Thy).

Ah good to see WA's very own w***er, Guns has joined the crowd.

"dumb" said it very succinctly. Again 30yr has done nothing to defend his original position regarding changing the rules of evidence to convict Fev. Everytime you refuse to retract that statement an continue to hurl abuse you are showing what a fool you are.

As for the likes of Zee taking shots at News Corp, yourself and 30yr would have been the same types crying out for David Hicks to have a fair trial. Yet for a football player you will happily ignore the rules of evidence. So in your book, fighting with terrorists is a bigger crime than being a footy player on the piss.

Yep only on bigfooty.

Old Blue Fan you are quite correct, confessing a prejudice does not make it right and I make no pretense of my dislike for the liar or the QC, but you are correct, and I should try much harder to be tolerant of all creatures great and small.

I don't want your tolerance chump. I have offered to give you my personal details so you can verify who I am. You aren't interested, because to do so would undermine your ability to use the childish retort "liar".

Again you don't focus on the question being presented to you, will you admit that you made a mistake regarding your call to change the rules of evidence to convict Fev, or will you offer a plausible explanation for how that statement can be rationally perceived?

Ease up, guns. Not even Ponytail deserves that sort of abuse.
