Put yourself in the shoes of a swans player and list what you think their new years resolution should be.

Perhaps Tadhg Kennelly's should be - to talk his mum to moving to Sydney to live

Every Swans player should have a resolution to play like Brett Kirk with no fear and 100% effort.

oh come on, that's a given
we EXPECT that, and after his efforts in 07, kirk himself should expect it of everyone else

shiiite, i was thinking of making the same thread

it's not for the players, but mine would be for the coaching staff to finally realise what a hack mchack is, and trade him off :)

bar that, i think i'd settle with the one i've been hoping for a while now: nick davis to finally play 22 games as though he really wants to.

at least he has been trying for the majority of the year; getting better all the time :thumbsu:

Coaching staff could be included.

Perhaps one of Paul Roos resolutions could be to debut 4 new players throughout the home and away season.

Adam Goodes (champion) could be to be at his very best in fitness, commitment and focus for every game (and in doing so this would be the year that he wins his third brownlow)

Leo Barry not to get caught holding the ball...

Thats a dream, not a resolution :D

It's not my dream. I think it would be a nightmare.

Barry getting caught occasionally means he is taking risks. The only way he is never going to get caught is if he stops taking players on.

I'd more than happy for him - and every other Swan - to make mistakes so long as the times their risks pay off outweighs the times they are caught.

To watch a team play without flair and risk is my worst nightmare - and a sure route to boring mediocrity and failure.

IMO you are 100% correct and whats more you made your point absolutely brilliantly.

Players in our back half like Leo and Tadhg need to have a "freedom" to take players on

I'm all for freedom and taking player's on but if you cant kick on your right foot then you shouldn't run to your right side. I've lost count how many times Barry has been caught holding the ball in this manner. As for Tadhg, he can do whatever he wants as far as i'm concerned. There is nothing better than seeing him stream through the centre of the ground and hit a forward on the chest...

Although its an ideal prospect, generally every Swans player would want to play 22 games + finals and not get dropped from the side. Especially those who are hanging on by a thread, i.e. McVeigh, Bevan and possibly Crouch...etc

Couldn't have said it better myself Liz. :thumbsu:

i've got another one!

for all the players to realise they need to get back at collingwood and come back with a thumping win that embarasses eddie into a lifelong hibernation. oh i wish :)

Amon...2 get his twin back...(i may be dreaming a little)

Ah i just want 2 see the boys get out there and do their best and i want 2 see the new boys play 2...i wanna see the boys go hard at it

I actually watched the '03 season highlights yesterday. That was Schneider's first season. He was simply brilliant. Some of the goals he kicked as an 18 year old were freakish. He will be missed. :(
