I saw him play for the first time a few years back in the magoos down at Geelong. He was highly impressive then, strong at the ball, cool-headed and a good driver in heavy traffic. At the time, I likened him to Andrew McKay and have seen no reason since then to change that assesment.

In short, his form shown last year was probably the reason why we could afford to let Jason Torney go. Newman would have less than half the price on his head with much the same level of output.

Well done kid!

CHRIS NEWMAN IS A STAR

Yeah he has always caught my eye whilst he was in the reserves, I too did liken him to Andrew McKay and I too see no reason to change my opinion of him.

Very good again will make the departure of Torney ease a bit, but in Adelaide Torns is playin up the ground and doing well, imagine him with our midfield rotation.......wish there was another way we could of got Sugar without sacrificing Jason.

Umm i dunno about Shultz, i dont think he is ready atm to play in the seniors watching him closely in the reserves, maybe stick Joel Bowden at full forward ala Nathan Brown type and see if that works.....

BRING IN MARTY MCGRATH

This kid is a very gifted footballer and maybe we could play him this week after a good performance in the ressies, he could be a marking type for this week against Fremantle.

F: McGrath Bowden Krakouer

I think that way we have these forwards who could run ragged their defender and lead and present and rotate at full forward.....it could be a good thing as if it works we then know we have other options that we could use!! Now is the time to try something.

I dunno but without Richo that forward line does look a bit dull...

Nah Tigerbob. If you ask me that looks like a great forward line. Maybe not Rodan in the forward line. Id like to see him in the midfield, although when its at the end of the quarters and hes tired (like he ever is ) he could go up forward.

Bowden really just needs to spend a few quarters at Full Forward. He is a very strong player and he is also very capible to be in the forawrd line as in the midfield.

It would be good, Bowden drops the mark - if he does, then krak and marty would be there at the fall of the ball.

Newman was brilliant again today against Jeff Farmer, this kid is just getting better and should have Milne as his next opponent, a hard task but he is more than capable of handling it. His mark today was a ripper.

And special mention to skipper Campbell, great servant of the club and another solid performance by him, most underrated player and leader in the compitition by far.
