Grundy & Moore are both under 26 and display leadership within the playing group.

I take the 2018 grand final as a prime example of leadership, Moore didn't play, if he plays I'd say we are likely to win and Grundy was smashed by Vardy and Lycett.

I also factor in how well the players seems to respect, admire and to an extent fear letting their captain down. Universally, I would hate to let a bloke like Taylor Adams down, he strikes me like a clone of Tony Shaw, someone who hates losing and wants to win at all costs. I don't think Moore and Grundy have that level of respect amongst the playing group - yet.

I think our leadership group in 3 years will consist of:

Adams (captain)
Maynard
Moore
J Daicos

Well their efforts against WC and Dockers might suggest otherwise.

Because we lost?
We lost to GWS and Essendon, both we should have won. Should we say Pendles isn't a good captain, because he couldn't make the team play better? No. As good as a leader as you are, when a team is down, its down. When the opposition outplays you, that's what happens. Many great leaders and captains have failed to win games for their team.

Adams played poorly with the burden of captaincy in addition to losing. It is unfair to compare him with Pendles losing a few matches because he is a proven leader who's taken us to a granny and prelim.
